I thought I would share this tip when searching places like Craigslist for tools. I bought an HF vise and wasn't really happy with the quality, with my real desire to own a vintage American made vise. Searching Craiglist using the term "vise" gave me a bunch of results to look at but there were no good deals, so thought about using a term people sometimes enter incorrectly. I figured when people search places like Craigslist they most often use the correct spelling of "vise", but this time I tried the less often used incorrectly spelling "vice" and found the vintage American made vise I was looking for at the price I was willing to pay. Tools people desire at a good price won't last long on places like Craigslist, so searching with terms spelled incorrectly means it will be viewed less giving you an edge, with your chance of grabbing a great deal more likely.

In the same vein, there were a couple plated enduros listed poorly like that. A friend and I were watching them waiting for the next $100 or so drop off the price, but then someone else got wise and snagged them. Like new, two year old bikes for $4k off list.

One of the big selling points besides the price is that it comes with a Samsung lithium battery. I bought 2 Samsung 18650 batteries as back-ups, after hearing good things about them compared to the no-name batteries installed in the HF Braun paying about $5 each for them alone.

Yes, they do... I have 6 or 8 of them anyway! Sometimes a shitty tool that you don't mind destroying comes in handy. Like when you want to make a custom clamp or use it in some way that you'd never use a good tool. :p that is one of the great reasons for harbor freight.

Yes!! Started doing this on eBay 20 years ago, back when normal folks were the sellers, and made some of my best buys ever. Still a valid idea for searching out the "deals".

It may be me, Ebay has software in their search engine that seems to always give me the results with the correct spelling, even when I want the incorrectly spelled term. With Craigslist they don't correct misspells so have had better luck, but will keep trying with Ebay and it's great to hear when people grab a great bargain in weird ways.

As I said it was years ago when eBay was a CL for folks just selling their $hit, car parts or what ever. Not today.

After getting this flashlight in the mail a week ago, I liked it so much I ordered another one and kind of wished I just bought this instead of the HF Quantum 588 lumen tactical flashlight. What puts it over the edge for me besides the price is the 18650 lithium battery, one of the biggest downsides to the HF flashlight is the short battery life even with using free batteries and the Ebay light just fits in my hand better, plus the strap at the end is handy. Too bad the HF flashlight doesn't have an adapter to use lithium as well as regular batteries to extend its usefulness.

Pretty solid flaslight for $4. Where did you buy the battery for it?

In my mind I want one of those yellow Daytona jacks but since I never feel like carrying that +100 pound beast up to the cash register I figure I prolly won't want to carry it across my gravel driveway.

If you can't master using a cart, maybe using a floor jack might not be something you:rofl: should try...

You don't have to carry it over the gravel. Just drag it by the handle.

At first, I was going to buy the least expensive 18650 batteries on Ebay (no-name), after buying the HF Braun light stick but after a little research, I decided to go with the Samsung 18650 lithium. I think the little extra I paid will be returned with extended life. I got them here => https://www.ebay.com/itm/2PCS-2200m...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

When I bought my jack the associate met me in front of the store with it loaded on a dolly and helped me load it too. The last thing he advised me was not to pick it up by the plastic hold-down straps, as he has heard people doing it and dropping it.

When I first got it I used my HF dolly to bring it in the house, but once you have it assembled the jack is easy to maneuver around.

That light mentioned above has some awesome magnets built in. Will cling to any steel anything. Very impressed with mine. Now we'll have to see how long it lasts...

Hahaa you funny! No really I have some fridge magnets that can't hold a piece of paper up. HF light magnets actually do the job well. Maybe I need to buy a bunch of lights just to hang crap on my refrigerator!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
