In other news (while we wait... grrrr) - picked up a copy of Fire and Blood. It's my first GRRM book and I've heard his style is not for everyone. Welp, I'm about to find out.

I got that on audible. I hate audiobooks, but we have a bunch of credits that the girls didn't use. It sucks because to read along, you have to buy both. Ugh!

I picked up FaB a few days back too, need to start it. GRRM is very long winded with his details and scene setting, which is a major contributor to why his writing style isn't for everyone. I'm an avid reader and appreciate a lot of different writing styles, but I'll admit that I had to focus here and there to keep pushing through when reading the ASOIAF series lol

Yep, major hallucination skills required is what I heard lol. Anyway, eager to dig in and read all about that era in the timeline!

Not really "major hallucination skills" I would think. Imagining what I'm reading has never been a problem for me. I'm capable of filling in the blanks as needed. What I think people don't always care for is focusing on small inconsequential details, one at a time, using 5-10 pages to bring together an entire scene. The texture and condition of wood paneling, small cracks running through it, to the sounds and smells from whatever, wafting up in waves, to the wrinkles on someone's cloak, to the crunching of footsteps...which is fine. GRRM is undoubtedly an amazing and talented writer. It's just not for everyone. All writers do it to some degree. He's just one of those authors that lingers on it to further immerse you, and it's a simple fact that its success partly relies on the reader to remain engaged and focused on it and pulled in

If he gets shipped out to Channel Islands, Oxnard and needs to work on a “Tacoma” my shop is always open. SeaBee’s are about 4 miles from me.

Looks like we will be waiting again while Mat figures out the slushboxes. From the updated FAQ in post #1 of the Alpha thread. No biggie,at least he should have all the nitpicking complaints worked out by the time he gets to the M/T's

    Q. Is my ECU version supported?

    A. Currently we have all 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019 (AT only) supported for 1.05. All ECU versions of these years are included EXCEPT very early version 2016s (04B00 and 04B01) where you should apply Toyotas ECU TSB first.

The AT only is for the 2019 because he doesn’t have MT files for it yet. He’s said before the new MT tune will release this weekend.

Can we M/T guys agree on one point? -

When Mat releases the 1.05 M/T tunes, take the time and put some miles on your truck before providing feedback (positive or negative). If there's obvious problematic behavior, by all means get in contact with Mat.

Not trying to stifle feedback, just trying to avoid a shitshow. Also, there may be other ppl in line for a file after us.

300-500 mile rule time again? Seems reasonable to me

200-300 would be reasonable, unless there are obvious issues.

Look, I don't want to try and set some rigid procedure... some will reject that on principle. Just that we think before posting on here.

Yeah and there will be others in that boat too. When I get a new file, I do go out and put mileage on it just to see how things settle out. I know some will not want to waste the gas, and that's understandable.

I think we all agree immediately making judgements isn’t what any of us want unless there’s some major issues.

It seems most people with the autos drive 10 miles and start saying all kinds of crazy shit. I feel bad for mat cuz he gives people what they want then complain when they get it. You can’t make some of those guys happy
