Currently installing a Fabtech 6" lift kit on my 98 Toyota Tacoma 4x4 (6 lug) Reg Cab 2.7L and ran into a small issue. I bought a set of Total Chaos UCA's to mate with the lift kit, however, the Uniball on the TC uca's won't mate to the Fabtech knuckle. The Fabtech ball joint that came with the kit does work on the factory control arms.

Any ideas on how I can make these UCA's work with the Fabtech knuckle?

Fabtech impact struts they sent with the kit are too short but that's a whole other story...lol

I thought the whole idea of the drop bracket kit was to retain the OE geometry, thus the OE UCAs are retained.

    Am I missing something?

You're right, I just like the look and the finish of the TC over the stock.

What do you like the look of better, the bracket lift that requires you to cut the frame, or the TC UCAs?

But if you are more interested in a better overall performing suspention systen, imo ditch the 6” lift, and go with good quality 3” coilovers (king, icon, fox...).

If you’re still desperate for the look of the 6” lift, just paint the oem UCAs a cool color you like and sell the TC UCAs.

Appreciate the response, at this point I'll roll with the 6" lift for now and see what the future holds. As for the TC uca's I'll most likely return them and stick with the stock black uca.

I don't have any pics on hand, from what my installer said..it wont marry up to the Fabtech steering knuckle..perhaps because the UCA were designed for use with the Toyota stock spindles. I can try to take a few pics next time I stop at the shop. I'd love to find a way to make it work so I can run the control arms.
