I just bought a super white TRD Sport access cab last night, it's quite complicated compared to my 2007 TRD.

Yes, but now it's more about the truck itself. The biggest reason now that I'd get a new truck is for 4-wheel drive.

I plan on getting a new vehicle long before then, but I want to do it when I have enough money to keep both the Tacoma and the new vehicle. I really like the Crosstrek and the RAV4.

there are threads here about TSS where the truck breaks for no reason. also if you are in the V6 4.0 the new V6 3.5 is a step down. test drive then test drive after that test drive.

What are your current or future plans? How would a truck payment impact those plans?

Good credit is a balancing act of borrowed money vs payment history on said borrower money. Also there are plenty of ways to establish good credit, i wouldn’t use that as a primary decision.

Compare the cost of your goals vs a car payment. Compare needs vs wants. IF a fwd isn’t required right now OR your desire to have isn’t to the point of wanting a payment, then don’t get one. It seems like you are trying to talk yourself into getting one. Go with what you really want, you can buy a new truck anytime you decide that’s what you want.

I would NEVER buy a new Camry. They have this obnoxious feature that locks out everything but the AM/FM radio and certain iPod features at speeds above 5 MPH.

Keep your truck Charlie, unless the frame is rotting off of it. The tss is not developed enough in the tacomas or any other vehicle yet. There are still major flaws in these systems if you were to actually depend on them. I would give it 5 more years before that happens.

I want to save up to buy a house and keep my current Tacoma for as long as possible. Also, I've had a number of fender-benders between 2015 and 2018 (a lot of which were not my fault), and my parents think something like TSS would reduce this. I think I should just keep my current truck and not rely on these safety features.

My truck has ABS and traction control. I also added a backup camera. That's all I need!

I’d reccomend keeping it then. Part of saving for what you want is not buying things you don’t need.

Also as the other poster stated, the TSS isn’t going to stop accidents. If you were going 15mph headed to a wall, I doubt it would stop the truck for you. Probably be more effective to stop texting and driving.

I've done a lot of stupid shit in the nearly 8 years I've had my license, but texting and driving is something I don't do! FYI, in that time I've only gotten one speeding ticket!

I have a friend who's in his sixties and has owned probably close to a hundred vehicles since he got his license at age 20, including numerous Rolls-Royces. He has NEVER financed a car in his life, EVER!

thats the best route you can go man. If you have a paid off truck now, keep it until u decide that you want a toy, sell that for cash, buy the toy and a daily.

If something happens to my truck, I probably will.

My dream Taco is either an orange 2015 TRD PRO, or any 2015 AC 4x4 with the 4.0L/6-speed!
