I like them both and have nothing but good things to say about them. I picked mine up on sale on ar15.com a few years ago

I’ve got one in my 17 and 19. Personally I like the TAC trigger more as well since it has the small hook at the bottom of the trigger shoe.

Currently I carry both my G19 and s&w shield9 in Triton AIWB holsters, and i have been happy with them, but I’ve decided that I want to dabble in the world of an appendix rig(mag caddy). Does anyone in here have any experience with any rigs? I’m having trouble deciding on a t-rex, a triton, or a tier1 axis. Open to other options if you have them, pics would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance

I have the T. rex raptor with mag caddy and a coworker has the tier 1. They are both solid setups, we swapped holsters for a week to see how we liked the other brand. The raptor and the tier 1 both sit against the body and keep a slim profile and don’t print on my frame (6’ 170ish lbs) with just a t shirt and jeans or shorts. The major difference between the two which I’m sure you’ve seen on reviews is the raptor is one solid piece while the tier 1 is two and has some “give” to it. This little bit of flex is great, it moves with you when bending over, kneeling etc... on both setups I carried my 19 with trl1 and a spare mag. After wearing all day I’m beyond ready to get the raptor off for sure. It was kinda the same with the tier 1 but not as bad. You really notice the difference between a solid piece of kydex and the two piece design of the tier 1.
Now as I mentioned I own the raptor, is it worth it to me to sell it and buy a tier 1? Short answer is no, the difference between the two while noticeable isn’t worth it to me to sell one buy and wait for the second one. The exception to that would be if I found some one with a tier 1 that wanted to straight trade. Either way you’ll be happy with each holster. If you carry all day everyday I would lean towards the tier 1 if you carry for a few hours a day and are able to take off the holster whether at work or at home then put it back on before leaving the raptor will be just fine as well.

Thank you for all this info. The raptor is very similar to what I have now, but I was looking into the sidecar. The flex point is what is Interesting me. I’m 6’ 255lbs. What they call an athletic build, but I’m not skinny by any means. Does your coworker have the tier1 with the snap buttons (AGIS) or the elastic bands (axis)? Any chance you would have a picture of your set up?

He has the AGIS with the snap buttons. Here is a pic of the raptor with my g17 in it 89C13A42-B250-4A8F-93A5-287806376202.jpg

Thank you. Did you order that color combo or was it a quick ship item. Oddly enough it’s the same color combo I was looking at lol

I believe it was the quick ship option. I don’t like loud flashy colors. Keep it simple, black or grey normally.

I carry my 30S at 3 with at Stealthgear holster and love it. It's comfortable any time of year but doesn't have the mag caddy. I'm going to pick up a 43 soon and thinking about Tier 1 AGIS for the Ulticlips. I figure they'll be good for walking/jogging in gym shorts.

Check out the axis slim as well, once your ready. Their newest and most compact set up. It’s also on my radar. I just hate how pricey all these holsters are, but I know you pay for what you get!

100% true. I have a side gig at a gun shop and it always kills me when someone comes in and asks for the cheapest holster we have for their gun. I've been there. I get that some people don't have an option. But the experience of EDCing a gun can vary wildly depending on the quality of holster.

Couldn’t agree more. The triton’s that I have are my first decent holsters, and again I like them, just looking for a little more options. They have a single clip, which can cause the g19 to shift, where the dual clip set up won’t allow for that

Question: When U have your extra mag on the same side as your pistol. can you reach the extra mag with your other hand to do a reload?

Typically holsters with the mag like that are intended for appendix carry. So a reload is somewhat of a crossdraw but completely doable.
