Dude. You're splitting hairs. It's just an option. You don't have to take it.

Is your long-bed pickup a racing rig?
Because it's badged with"TRD" as if it were Developed by Toyota for Racing. I would think that would bother you.

Speaking of Off Road racing trucks, guess how many wheels are motivated on a majority of Baja trophy trucks? (hint: they are more similar to OP's than to yours)

Longo Toyota is a great dealership to buy from that’s where I got my killer dealer. They’re big enough to take a lost just to make sure another dealership doesn’t get the sale.

Why do they call they TRD Sport a 'sport' model when the powertrain is no different than OR and it's not even fast for a truck to begin with?

    It's all just marketing.

If you really want to be angry or confused, ask yourself 'why did Toyota make 2wd FJ Cruisers'? because they did

Now you're just out to hurt feelings. :pout:

FWIW, I was able to spin the tires on my sport, once, with stock tires.

    ...in the rain.

Yeah, but the power to weight ratio is better since there’s only 1/3 of the horse.

Longo is legit. If I were back west, that would have been the first spot.

All I’m saying is that to say it’s silly or it has no place (2wd) in the off road community is absurd.

Tacoma prerunner is still a thing, and pre running is a great activity off road.

    Like, so many.
I always thought the “Sport” was just in reference to the “sport tuned” suspension and styling. I got no problem with that. I do think it should have some other goodies, but whatever.
And I HAVE always wondered about the FJs!

it's silly to market a 2WD truck as an "off-road" to the general consumer. To the average pickup truck buyer "off-road" is synonymous with having at least 4WD. Never said 2WDs were silly, or that pre-runners were silly. Just market them as such.

Yeah the 2WD FJ Cruisers sort of confuses me as well, given the legendary 4x4 platform it's based off of. But it is what it is, just be sure to check if you're ever buying a used one lol

As we’ve learned from this thread you need to have 4wd turned on in order to go off the road.
