You guys must be on the west coast… ordered Tuesday afternoon and still haven’t gotten them yet

Tracking says Monday but for some reason I suppose it didn’t ship till 2 days later. Not sure if they will deliver or not then. Was hoping to install on the long weekend

Looks good! What bulbs are you using for the parking lights and sidemarkers? Mine don't quite match.

 

Is the tracking working? We tried shipping every 24-48 hours

Yes it’s working. It does say Monday and I checked if usps will deliver and they do so as long as it doesn’t hit any bumps along the way I can do a Christmas install

 

It was a long time before I found a true amber LED side marker bulb that would not dim and turn more orange as it overheated. I tried just about everything from the cheap Chinese ebay stuff all the way up to VLEDS. There are lots of "yellow amber" LED bulbs out there that do not overheat but they are, well, YELLOW and not amber. Most true amber 194 and 168 LED bulbs seem to be designed for intermittent use as turn signals instead of continuous use as side markers. As a result, they are setup to draw too much current for continuous use and get too hot. I finally found these at an auto parts store. They are everywhere now including Walmart. The package says "For Off Road Use Only" for no apparent reason. There are two types. Some are 0.5W and some are 0.7W. I went with the 0.7W which are slightly brighter.

I still have not found a parking light/turn signal/DTRL LED bulb that offers any benefits over the factory bulbs. VLEDs Triton LEDs are attractive but pricey, require a separate driver and still draw a lot of current. The original bulbs are cheap and simple.

 

I was looking at the Phillips ultinon amber leds which have the same relative design/dome diffuser. I can’t find the specs for their watts though.

I also just found out that the 168 is brighter than the 194 lol (supposedly has more watts) but again I can’t find the specs. Would getting the 168 variety be a better option than the 194 or does it pull to much and possibly cause that over heating you were talking about?

 

Running ultinon ambers.. they are legit. Optics are just as important as the Diode itself, and phillips knows how to design for proper light reflection.

 

Did you use the 194 or 168 variant? For the parking lights

I have the Phillips vision 194 white in the tag lights and am happy with them so I figured I’d stick with the same brand

Oh I guess I have the bulb numbers wrong, I just assumed since he @oooshadowoo mentioned 194 for the parking light (I was thinking this was the outer lights)

Ordered on the 20th and received them today. Installed in less than 15 minutes, super easy. Very happy with the way they look and their quality. Looking forward to checking them out at night!

 

I have a 2012(2nd gen) so the bulb size might be different. on your 3rd gen. Sounds like @mesojdm has a good bulb selected though.

 

Drove with these through the snow tonight, a little more red than my rigids were I think on my old truck, but I liked it. Very easy on the eyes and good sight range, nice wide beam for deer on the side of the road. Maybe not as good as the G4's, but they also aren't chrome!
