Edit: here’s the video, it’s 20 mins but me getting stuck is the last like 3 minutes.

So yeah, there I was, at an off-road Park for the entire day with my month old Tacoma and on the 5th hour went to a part where it was a bit challenging and open to suvs/trucks only and got stuck. Too embarrassed to upload the video.

So... question, what’s my next upgrade? Because the part I got stuck pissed me off and now I want to go back to the exact spot and conquer it.

Here’s me at the sand dunes of the park, funnest part of the park.

    EE9C609D-AA2F-409E-A058-1A8747AF3453.jpg

Then here’s me getting stuck which required the park patrol to bring their atv to pull me out, they couldn’t find me for an hour because they checked all the “problem” spots first (Where they typically have to pull people out) and I wasn’t at those spots and they said this was the first time they’ve pulled someone from that particular spot, it hurt my feelings. Had to pay $60 too...

    What do?

Edit: when I say stuck, I was full on stuck and the truck wouldn’t even move an inch no matter which way I turned the steering wheel....

Those tires don't look too useful in mud. You tried crawl control?

Well it was a POV video. So it doesn’t show much... you do get to hear why a skid plate was useful though....

Get better tires. Looks like a little speed would’ve gotten you through that too. Use A-TRAC to control tire spin.

Bigger cojones than me taking a brand new truck into the unknown.

More skinny pedal was needed on entry... air down those tires, get a winch if you want to play in mud.

Definitely tires. If you want to play in the slop, ditch those all-highway terrains.

Also get yourself one of those $35 air inflators they sell at Lowe's. Run low pressure when you're out playing.

    Atrac didn't help?

Better tires is the first step, maybe even go a little larger to 265/75-16's. I'm partial to general grabber X3's, the Cooper STT Pro is another great pick.

Looks like you hung up on your hitch. Get a rear bumper with a hidden receiver and your exit angle will be better.

Definitely need to sit down those tires. Did you adjust tire pressure at all? Even more so for the sand than the mud, where you ended up getting stuck.

Some upgrades would help, but it looks like maybe just a little better strategy/approach and you could probably get through there?

BTW - I can't tell if those are real sliders or steps, but if they're just the aluminum steps (aka damage multipliers) I would quickly replace with sliders if you're going to really use the truck off road...

Need more info. 4lo, locker, crawl controls. Were any of these systems used?
