I had a goatee before I joined

 

Oh lord. Goatee is probably my least favorite of the common facial hairs

 

I was young and didnt know any better.

 

Which field are you trying to get into? A well trimmed beard can still look professional. The other thing I will say is that if you interview without one and then try and grow one while working there they could be like who tf does this guy think he is?!

They should be illegal.

 

Basically just stay in government cyber security. I know that a beard can be professional, but for me I look better and more professional clean shaven. I learned a lot in a 3 day department of labor employment workshop, about interviewing, etc and it can be pretty cut throat. We had a woman come talk to us about dressing for an interview and something as simple as a pocket square could be the reason you do or don’t get a job, which blew my mind.

 

For cyber is all about those certs and the clearance man. Super competitive though and yeah it’s funny and depends on who you have interviewing.

 

If a pocket square (or beard) is a reason you didn’t get hired then you probably don’t want to work there anyways.

 

I cant grow a full beard, its too thin in places. Goatee is about the best i can do. I look like (more of) an idiot clean shaven, so i just keep it short trimmed to have something there

 

I fly often and have realized that's standard airport attire for women these days. Good or bad. And with transiting through Europe and Dubai often, a lot are for the good.

 

Well guys I got a bed cap and it’s perfect! Got one hell of a deal!

 

You'd better grow a beard and wear a suit with a pocket square for your interview. Possibly an ascot as well. Maybe a nice cravat

 

I vote a beard and tuxedo T-shirt, it says classy but I like to party too

I like/agree with all of this. Perhaps a pocket square, ascot and pipe that you light up during the interview.

Meant to tell you, I got a buddy who got out a couple years ago and is a project manager for a contractor company for the navy over in Norfolk. he might be able to assist in finding something for you if you want.
