I use Gaia, just need to down load the maps. I also ordered the Butler Maps Arizona Backcountry Discovery Routes.

I'm still the new kid on the block here so I'll leave it up to you guys for the where. As to when, I guess that will depend on when we are all planning on meeting at the starting point and how long it takes to get there from Tucson.

    Yes, for sure in.

The only way I would back out would be landing a job but I will give as much notice as possible if that happens. Unless I can finagle the time off before starting. I don't have anything lined up at this time so the chances are pretty slim. Good and bad thing really.

From someone who made runs into that area 4 weeks in a row.
This is the last gas station you'll hit before hitting the dirt Shell 5620 AZ-92, Hereford, AZ 85615. Definitely want to top off here and that should give you enough to make it to Benson and skip a top off in Sonoita where it is like $1 per gallon more than Tucson.

Depending on what time you start copper brothel brewing in Sonoita is a solid spot to stop for lunch or dinner. 3112 AZ-83, Sonoita, AZ 85637.

If you're looking for side activities you can stop at montezuma pass and do a very short <1 mile walk to the Coronado memorial overlook that looks out over Mexico. Well worth doing and a good chance to stretch the legs after a long drive down there and bumpy road ahead. If your feeling more adventurous you can do the 2.8 mile round trip down to the border and terminus for the AZ trail.

Have fun guys as I've said that part of the state is beautiful and becoming one of my favorite areas

I’m going to propose a morning start. Are you all morning people? Want to get an early start?

We could do a group breakfast near Tucson and then caravan south. Just a thought.

I'll be driving in the night before since I'll be coming from Vegas so I'll be in the area for any time.
