Short or Long Bed?

I have a 2009 Taco with the Long bed. I wasn't sure if I was going to like it when I first bought it last year, but I don't think I could do without the extra bed length and I also feel that it gives a little bit of a smoother ride....or maybe it’s just my imaginion.

 

I personally like the look of the short beds but thats just me. I dont haul to much stuff so thats why I went with a short bed. Still comes in super handy though!!!!

 

Sooo, this is just a poll to see what members have a short bed and which have long bed. (ie: most are only going to vote for what they have in these type of, "whats best" polls)

If I wanted an unusable bed, I would have bought an SUV...long bed all the way! Although, the back seats are terrible, so that's certainly a limitation.

Size doesn't matter, boys. It doesn't have to be that long. Just as long as you use it properly.

I like my 6' bed...it comes in handy when making my deliveries.

 

Long bed. I'm a woodworker and transport 4x8 sheets regularly. I like that they only hang out the back a foot or so.

Just replaced some wooden fencing on one side of the house. Had about 200 6ft wooden pickets in the back of the truck, tailgate closed!! Who says size does not matter!

 

I love the look of the short bed...but don't get me wrong the long bed still looks good, can I have one of each???

 

it just depends on how and what you're using your truck for. you really can't haul a whole lot in a tacoma whether it's a long or short bed just to be honest. if it's tacoma you're working out of and hauling stuff in everyday, sure, the long bed is more handy. but if you're just driving it as an everyday vehicle, the short bed is suitable, works just fine, and looks a little better to me. that's probably because i have one, but whatever. a tacoma isn't really a "work truck" so i will probably never haul anything too heavy or long in mine. i'll just use my f-350 long bed or just flip out the bed extender
