I hear you. You are going to sell it one day, but you are not going to lose by keeping it.

Agreed. The op could trade for a 20, 21, or 22. No reason to rush it. The longer you wait, the more you gain.

I wonder why though? 3rd gen is better in every way unless someone prefers the look of the 2nd gen ?

Because 3rd gen is 3.5L engine that belongs in camry with shitty transmission and looks like a catfish- Toyota cheaping out on a truck but using the Tacoma name to charge 45k for it.

Never felt like I needed to spend $600 to $800 on OVTune to fix transmission. 2nd Gen wins that category.
    Great truck, GLWS.

Hahah one could argue that's one man’s opinion, I noticed it's 50/50 split though :)) I owned the 4.0 and drove the 3.5 couldn’t tell that much difference and think the 3rd gen looks better inside and out in every respect. I guess to each it’s own but as a general rule I’ve noticed that most new things often take a bit time to get used to.

Can you be more specific? Are you talking about shifting points I’m guessing ? I’m currently deciding where do I want to go with a next build which will most likely be re geared anyway.

Did you get a chance to drive the Ranger ? Curious what your thoughts were, did they make diesel version in the states by the way?

I did drive the 3rd gen with the 3.5L and it's not the right engine/tranny combo for me.....it seems like there no power off the line and it shifts a lot especially going up slight hills....you have to rev the crap out of it to feel the added power.....it just doesn't feel as powerful as my 4.0L motor.....I guess it's all in the programming from the factory.....I've said this before, the 3rd gen needs to have a "power selector knob" like my 2015 Lexus RC F.....you can put it in eco mode, normal, sport or sport +......the knob changes the power band and shifting points....this should be on the 3rd gen for sure!!!! ….I did not test drive the new Ranger.....I "built" one on the Ford website and a 4x4 Lariat supercab with all the goodies in about $44K......My 2015 TRD PRO Inferno is 1 of only 492 made in 2015 and I think my mods are tastefully done and not over the top and should appeal to most buyers IF or when I ever decide to sell.....but for right now there is nothing that warrants me selling my truck......especially NOT a 3rd gen Taco with the 3.5L camry motor......or the blah looking ford Ranger

Lexus should come out with a rebranded "Tundra super pro" edition with the same v8 motor as my RC F.….467 hp.....it would blow the doors off of the Raptor!!…...are you reading this Toyota/Lexus???!!!!!!....

just seems odd that I keep getting messages from new members with only 1 or 2 messages wanting to buy my truck......I've had several of these messages....I would only deal with someone that's been on here a while just to be safe.....too many scammers out there!.....doesn't matter, truck is not for sale.....

Should probably mark as "SOLD" in your description or ask the moderator to remove it completely.
