Got my 4X innovations rear bumper this morning , so I spent a few hours getting it painted and installed. This thing is BEEFY.
Since I had the wires out, I wired up the rear view camera to be on anytime the marker lights are on. Just put the softopper on a few days ago. The camera will help negate the lost visibility from the solid side panels. Love the softopper too, easy install and great quality materials.

30k miles?? Damn...I'm guessing it was dino oil too?

I don't understand how someone can do that unless they're dumb enough to not realize the oil needs changing (I work with someone that dumb that had to have his Scion's engine replaced as a result...). Even if a person is too lazy to DIY there are 15 min oil drive thrus lol.

Usually about every other couple of oil changes I'll drain the automatic transmission fluid (pan), and replace. What is the trick, if any to refilling without making a freaking mess??
I learned the hard way that you just can't place a funnel into the dipstick tube and pour it in. First time, I placed the funnel in the tube, went to pour in my expensive Amsoil fluid, and lost half of it down the transmission tube onto the ground. My wife comes out later...what is that smell in the garage? I told her that was the sweet smell of expensive transmission fluid.
So, to prevent this, I have to make sure the funnel end is right at the top of the dipstick opening so there is a gap (not sealed so it can breath I guess) and slowwwllyyy pour it in.
So as you can imagine, it seems to take forever to pour in 4 to 5 qts.

    Is there a better way...funnel....etc.
*I'm using a transmission funnel (skinny neck).

Yeah that’s what I’m going to get, I was using a 18” beefy screw driver but it was flexing. I think a 2’ pry would be perfect.

I've taken synthetic oil out to 10k miles before in my Ram. That equates to a change about once a year. But I wouldn't go further and if it was dino oil wouldn't go past 5k miles. I've been having the oil from that engine (5.7L hemi) tested by Blackstone for several years and it has been good out to 10K still.

I don't remember if we have a fill plug on our trans, but if we do you can remove that and then when you fill it up from the dipstick tube it will breathe a whole lot better.

I did an oil change yesterday. 3300 miles. The oil filter wouldn’t budge and it was dark and starting to rain......so I said fuck it. I’ll change it next oil change lol I have never done that before but I was already pissed from the cv replacement

Yeah. Except yesterday was one of those days where shit wasn’t working right. It’s hard to get the strap wrench in there and working

Grest seats but unless your like 5 feet tall you'll have to shorten the seats. Have them in mine and tried just putting the feet on them. Ended up having to cut the side of the mounts and shorten it several inches and it's still taller than stock. Theres pictures somewhere in my build.

I had the same issue when I did my first change on my truck last week. The PO must have really cranked the filter on and I couldn't for the life of me get it off by hand. I tried fitting my strap wrench in there but that wasn't fitting at all either. No room to turn it and it's a metal strap and was too big for the filter. I ended up using my clutch basket vice grips for motorcycles to grab onto the filter and get it loose. Now I have the Lisle filter tool so it will be easier going forward.

Ive got no one to be mad at lol I put the filter on last time. But I always put it on hand tight so im not sure why I couldnt get it off. Ill happy use the Lisle moving forward. Probably help to not drop it as well which i have definitely done in the past.

Be sure you check the transfer case shifter cup as well. When I replaced the cups in my truck, the transmission one was still whole but the t-case one was goey dust like yours was.
