Max is 3 on caster.. but with a 3 inch lift that is difficult to achieve.

You'll want UCA's if you want to align it properly. And it's likely you'll only get 2.5" in front before your CV's become an issue.

Isn't their a drop that comes with most kits to avoid that?

I read about the 6112s. Might be a better option than the 5100s. But the 5100s in a similar kit is alot cheaper. Not sure if the price difference is justifiable

You dont want to do a diff drop. It doesnt help with function of the truck. Cutting the cross member out is not a great mod.
Not sure if the 6112's are rebuildable.

So avoid this in the lift? What's the pro con their? And the alternative?

6112 looks like its non rebuild able... but it's cheaper to replace if it leaks. Pros and cons I guess

Well, yes there is. Unfortunately it can cause its own problems with drivetrain vibration, which requires shims, which requires...

It can be a rabbit hole,

I put an Icon lift on a 2009 with TRD supercharger, with Dakar leafs. Finally added TC UCA's to get into spec on alignment. Tires were going fast, so it was worth the extra expense.

Edit - Here's one using 6112's from this site.

Cutting the cross member will void any future frame warranty. Alternatives is stay at 2.5 inches. To run bigger tires your going to have to trim and possibly a cmc to not have the tires rub. Yes the cmc is technically a frame warranty void but it is less noticeable.
Rebuilding shocks is cheaper than buying a new set every time. Cons.... you will need to keep the stock set to get around while the others are being serviced.

That looks good and the tires I wanna run.

    Got it.

So maybe a 2.5 front and trim to fit the 285s is a better option. I plan on keeping all stock parts for next time I swap theyll get it back "stock"
Good link on the cab mount chop?
    I don't mind trimming stuff.

Fox has stupid backorder times right now unless you go through a larger vendor. @Wheeler's Off-Road Inc has been great to me. They’ve hooked me up with great prices and got me the elusive front Fox 2.5’s coilovers with resi’s & adjusters in 3 days. I waited 3 months from 2 other vendors & they had no eta.

If you go icon make sure you notch out the shock mount. 2k miles in mine leaked.
Side note luckily I had my dealer install it so they are making it right and getting the shock rebuilt.

I love the kit though it’s a big upgrade from stock and would get the kit again.

    Oscar,

In a similar boat... same truck...

What are your thoughts on 5100s front and rear, OME 888 coils, and some kinda AAL or leaf pack in the rear? Extras are longer u-bolts, a need bearing that should be changed, 1/4 driver’s spacer to correct lean, and perhaps a driveline drop or leaf spring wedge in the rear? My understanding is the lift gets you a solid 2+” front and rear, maintains the factory rake, and does not require UCAs.

I just went with the OME medium kit with full leaf pack + spc uca. Under 2k for sure and itll handle future armor as well. Cmc and 285's to come for me as well. Gl

I am a new Tacoma owner, why do you do this to the trucks? Is it strictly for rock crawling?
I understand the mods but what is the big reason, I hope it is just not for looks

CBI sliders, ADS extend travel with compression adjuster coil overs, 9” Bilstein 5125 rear shocks, Icon Tubular UCA, Alcan custom leafs, All Pro Apex bumper and skids, NWTI rear diy bumper, 295/70/17 Cooper St Maxxs and nitro 4.88s.
From my experience when it comes to suspension. I would save up some more $$$. Id get Kings or ADS up front and get UCAs. In the Rear match the Kings or ADS. For the Leafs go with a custom pack from Alcan. ( figure out how much lift and weight capacity you want.) Ive seen it time and time again on this forum. People go cheaper at first then upgrade after. End up spending more in the end. I have Icon all around. They tend to leak and the performance isnt the best, they are a digressive shock instead of a progressive shock which tends to be better for wheeling.
