Ok guys, need recommendations for front brakes!
Failed inspection on pads and rotor.

Plus @DOUBLLD right front tie rod is loose. Of course we should have done both sides at the same time but oh well.

Looking to do this all next week, so if anyone is wanting to help w/ brakes ill take what i can get
I can do brakes easy just looking for supervisors to drink beer and tell me how wrong my way is.

So, tried to get my dealer (Ourisman Fairfax Toyota) to do that TSB fix when i took the truck in for it's 50k mileage work. They ran my VIN, said it wasn't associated with my truck and they would not do it. Asked for the Manager, service adviser said he was the Manager and he wouldn't do it. Right. Anyways, any of you have a dealership that has done it and didn't give a lot of pushback in Virginia? I was driving back and forth between Winchester and Leesburg on Route 7 (very hilly) all weekend and I my truck straight stayed at 4k RPMS the entire time, basically had to take my foot off the gas for it to shift into a higher gear again. Clearly, need that TSB....

Anybody near Harrisonburg?

 

So my buddy is in the market for a 3rd gen taco. He really likes the TRD sports. He wants to build it up into an off road rig over time. Is they anything he shouild look out for? any reason to go up to an oof road or down to a SR5? Any help is appreciated.

 

Personally I find the TRD off-road to be the most bang for buck, and he can do lighter wheeling until he builds it up over time

 

His main concern with the Off road was basically paying twice for the parts that you get. Like he will eventually put a new lift on it and tires and what not. Plus he is creaming over the hood skewps

 

With the sport you get the bigger rear. If he lifts it down the road he’ll be changing suspension components anyway no matter which he gets. At this point he should just get the one he likes the best. I can see where the locker and crawl control could be appealing but if he likes on more than the other the locker can be added later

 

Off-road and sport are almost identical in price
