    My granfors is the same just a matching guard to the sheath .

    I have some more of that leather if you need a piece for the collar.


    When Eugenes looked like yours I just used some 120 grit sand paper to clean it up followed by flitz Polish and then mineral oil
    Bees wax on the wood to seal it

    I'd suggest carry the bevel back a little more have a bit more of a convex edge to it . Really helps with chopping

    Might go with some heavy gauge wiring around the collar so there's no chance of it splitting. I have three coats of linseed oil on it with it down to 600 grit soo it's really really nice to operate. Would the beeswax help seal it after the linseed oil?

    I'd say yes .
    I just used it cause it's what Helle recommend for wood handle knives and granfors says for their axe handles as well.

    That leather I used is belly leather. According to Tandy leather when I bought it, its one of the thickest. So it's strong enough for this
