I got my 40V Ryobi on clearance at Home Depot for $87.

I’ve been glad to have it multiple times on the trail.

I had real chainsaws when I was doing firewood. The battery one is great for what it is.

Yeah, just looking to clear a small tree when needed. Really dont want to carry gas on board.

That's what I'll do.

 

You can cut up a lot more than you might think with a battery saw, we’ve cleared dense fresh oak trees that were maybe 16”+ in diameter with Lloyd’s chainsaw. Only problem is you’d probably wanna keep extra batteries in case you come across multiple downed trees.

 

Yeah I may rig a charger. I have an old electrical pole saw. I wanted to make sure that the new stuff is more capable

Electric saws are most likely fine as long as your not going to the Pacific Northwest. But if you aren’t going to be carrying gas with you chances are your not going to be remote enough to need a saw anyway

 

Needed a saw twice yesterday

 

Like needed to cut a small tree in the pine barrens to avoid taking one of the 50 other trails that go through that area, or needed to cut a tree because you needed to get to the gas station in another 50 miles because you don’t have enough gas to backtrack 250 miles to the last known place you stopped? If the first scenario then electric will be a great setup. I’d reccomend dewalt or Milwaukee but that depends if you have any particular batteries already.

 

Curious what the ban is and how you can get around it? Been living with a ban in MA my whole life

 

I shipped all of my Murphy Mags to NH a few weeks ago. Been waiting for some good deals.

Yeah, I need glock mags. There's a place near me that'll block them and reduce it to 10 for $20 a mag.

 

Can’t get around it. If you get caught it’s a class 4 felony which isn’t major but it’s still a felony

 

You can do it yourself too. It just has to be permenant.

ANJRP is still trying to get the ban reversed. So I didn’t want to permenantly alter my 10+ mags.

 

There’s a fine plus potential jail time. AND you lose all firearm privileges in the US forever.

 

We brought all our “high capacity” mags to the cabin in PA as soon as the bill passed and bought 10 rounders. I saw the run on them coming.

Makes me miss NH all that much more. I had a safe FULL of stuff that would have me in prison in NJ when I lived up there.

Not forever, you can get a felony turned over depending on how severe it was, how long it’s been, or how good you’ve acted since the conviction. A class 4 felony for that simple thing should be overturned rather easily

 

That’s what I figured. MA has the stupid “if it’s made before 1994 then it’s legal” BS so the price of “pre-ban” shit is insane. I cry when I see Glock 30 round sticks for cheap online and then MA prices are 100 plus for pre-ban
