    I am new to the truck world and im looking to upgrade every bit of my truck it seems, lol.

    What are the benefits of the SAS? can it be done to a 2wd and where can you purchase this item (reputable source i mean)

    SAS a prerunner can actually be easier than a 4x4 because you can start with a cheap truck and getting really good 4x4 components without replacing existing 4x4 components...basically starting with a clean sheet of paper rather than working with something that is almost finished.

    If you know what you are doing, you can save money by SASing a prerunner than a 4x4

    Why are you asking? What's the purpose for wanting to put a SAS on a 2WD truck? Are you looking for height?

    IF 2nd gen taco's are anything like the 1st gens (95-04), then you could just swap in the 4x4 stuff from a salvaged truck. all you would need is the 4x4 stuff. ie diff, spindles, hubs, d-shaft, 4x4 version of your trans. on the 1st gens its just bolt on stuff. If you just want 4x4, but not looking to go all out 4wheeling then this might be a good option to look into. It would also be a heck of alot cheaper to do it that way that SAS your truck

    if you arent gonna do a 4x4 conversion i say you dont need it. a SAS is not practical for a daily driverand takes alotta work to do.

    if you want the best thing i reccomend is buying a SAS kit from skys offroad design, it has almost everything you need. i also reccomend using a Dana 44 axle with the proper diff drop for whatever T-case and trans youll be using. you can use the same wheels and tires if you have wheel spacers.

    you will also need a good fabricator that knows what their doing unless you are good with a torch and welder

    and it will be expensive especially after regearing

    honestly, I have just been reading a lot of posts but not grasping the concept. so i figured i would ask in relative terms to how it would apply to my vehicle. make sense? not necessarily something I plan on doing (though i do want to go higher than I am now), I really just wanted to know what the benefits were and hear what others have experienced.

    the taco is leafed in the front after driving a few hours you get used to it but i always get comments from other people lol
