Can I request some pictures of what your state inspection sticker looks like on your car so I can feel better or worse about mine?

I hate the jack asses here in TX that just slap it on all crooked then you have to live with it that way for a year. I know that it seems like a small thing but it is in my direct line of sight. The Taco's is 'decent' right now but I'm dreading next year's loser that will replace it. My wife just got the Jeep done and the blind jerk's seeing eye dog could have done a better job than him.

I don't wanna waste any disc space to take a picture of mine. But, mine are located in the same spot as this....but I actually have TWO stickers (inspection & emissions).

Yeah, I know the feeling. My local guys are never able to remove the debris from the last sticker and they just plop the new ones on the old sticky crap and never in the same spot so there's sticker debris everywhere in that corner. I've tried to clean it up...but lost my patience with it. This year, the state went budget on the stickers themselves and they're peeling up.

Yeah, or the rest of the world can step up and get rid of their 'it's good enough' attitude and get back to one where quality work and spending a little extra time adds up to a job well done.

    It's okay, I know I have problems.

No state inspector or emissions stickers in the State of Washington. I think it would bug me too if it were placed on there crooked.

This makes me crazy, I've made them take 'em off and put them back on before. Just because you don't give a damn what your vehicle looks like doesn't mean that I should have to live with your shoddy work. Pictures not the best but it was the best I could do.

I thought that California had some of the most stringent inspections?

Yours is one of the best I've seen. I was contemplating the side by side with my registration. I think that we should get together and start a petition. Here in Texas at least I think that the size and placement of these are a hinderance to proper vision. We should do what Mexico does. It looks like they make a digitial copy of the license plate and put it on one of the back side windows.

If you give me the opportunity to put it on myself, I will drive up to North Texas and pay both you and your friend an extra $20 a piece when I need my new one next year.

    I should get medication.

I'm sorry! It was not directed at you. I've been doing some home rennovations at my in-laws house ($400,000 house built in the 80's) and have been seething at the corners that were cut and lack of attention to detail. Houses built in the 40's and 50's with less regulations have better craftsmanship. Granted they are not as efficient...

I actually have an overall problem with this generation of society. What are we leaving to be remembered? 100 years from now we will be remembered for crappy rap music, roads that fall apart when it rains (maybe just a TX thing), 'abstract' art, idolizing actors like Downey Jr. and Lohan, and an overall lack of work ethic. But 'it's good enough for now' so who cares.

Only for Smog, and only once every 2 years. Only sticker we have to put on our trucks is on the license plate showing current registration. That's the basics out here.

When I take mine in I tell them I want to put the new sticker on myself. Many times I get then to give me the "razor on a stick" so that I can remove the old one too. Haven't had anyone say "no" yet.

I agree with what you're saying. A few years back I moved from a house built in 1766 to a house built in 1999. Right off the bat, I noticed things like pans shaking on the stove when I walked around the kitchen, windows rattling when a car drove by. I doubt that house will last 100 years, never mind 250!

Texas inspection stickers are obnoxious even if they are stuck on straight...
