Changing Wheel Size from 18 to 17 inch

My 2018 Limited came with 265/60R18 Michelin tires. I'm considering getting a set of 17 inch TRD OEM wheels (PTR20-355110-BK). Looking for recommendations for tire size to fit the wheels and keep the height that the 18 inch wheels provided. Any recommendations appreciated.

 

265/65r17 I assume

 

265/65 will give the same rolling diameter as your 18s. But you can also step up to a 265/70 without issue.

Either is fine

 

By the math the stock tires are 30.52"
265/65/17's would be 30.56"

Thanks gents! I was looking at a set of BFG T/A KO2's. Should match the wheels and I've seen a lot of good comments on TW.

Not a 3rd gen. But you can see how easily a 265/70 fits.

Stock Sport rims are 17x7.5 with a 30 mm offset .

The 4R Trail rims are 17x7.5 with a 15 mm offset .

 

I forgot, mudflaps can be a problem on the 3rd gen with the 265/70r17s. Op, do you have mudflaps?

 

On my 2nd gen I don't come close and I have OEM mudgaurds .

Right on, just saying, other users have tried the TAKO2s 265/70r17s and rubbed on mudflaps. Not saying it'll happen to OP, but it has happened to others.

 

Not with 15-30mm positive offset.

You get into trouble with -10mm offset.

I don't own a 3rd gen. So I can't comment. That's why I made sure to note that the clearance pix were of my 2nd gen

Well I'll be damned. Looks like I'll be buying some mudflaps.

 

I highly recommend the weathertech mud flaps if you want rigid plastic. They are a little wider and not quite as long as the OEM flaps.
