You can get a nice domestic RTT with that kind of money that’s more durable.

Yeah, I'm only $800 into my RTT and it even came with replacement parts for free that I haven't needed yet

I’m sorry man, I wasn’t trying to insult you or the tent. That was not my intention at all.

My fronts didn't split like Ryan's but they do have a small chunk missing on each one which is said to have happened from over compressing them. Not happy about that but plasticsguy said he would take care of me if anything happened to them.

But my rears are badly chunked up. Took a little while but he finally replied & said he would replace them with a different compound.

I got mine for $187 shipped during an ebay flash sale. Amazon had it for $185 shipped a few months ago but I never pulled the trigger. Was keeping an eye on it & price has been fluctuating on Amazon from $224 to $240. Probably for the holidays though, price should come back down eventually. There are others that cost less than the Alpine though.

Is your Corolla burning oil yet? Those early 1ZZ's had terrible piston rings and almost always burn oil. I have an 01 and it burns more oil than gas haha. Still gets 45 mpg so :notsure:

Looks cool, and I love the 6" thick aspect. Couple questions out of curiosity.
    1. Can you store sleeping stuff (bags, pillows) inside when it's closed?
    2. Looks like the fold-out parts "angle up." Is that just an optical illusion or does floor work in such a way that the inside is flat?
Seems like if you can keep your stuff in there, they are clearly doing something different than everyone else, and everyone else should be copying them. Because at half the height, that's got to be a great weight and mpg saver.

I can get you some pics tomorrow but yes, closed cell foam then vapor barrier mat. 2 20deg mummy bags and 2 half size pillows. Its a tri fold system, the feet are at like 2deg and the head about 3. Its supported by a bungee cord type material, so like sleeping in a stiff framed hammock. You fold it up and the cover secures it down with 6 buckles. They are adjuable depending on how much stuff you left in the tent.

    Thank you man.

My Corolla now has over 200k, maybe even 220k? It started to burn oil at around 160k? But it’s been a champ and it runs strong :) I’m going to switch it to high mileage synthetic and see if that helps. I just been using Mobil 5-30 fully synthetic so far.

Is it even worth fixing the oil burn issue?

Up the viscosity a teeny bit. 10w-40 dino oil helps a bit if the oil burning isn't too severe

I’ve changed my oil since I’ve been driving and I’ve also never pre filled a oil filter nor had a oil light come on in any of my vehicles.

Mine has 185k, started to burn around 120k. I've tried running thicker oil, didn't really help much. It gets pretty cold where I live so I switched back to a cheap 5w-30.
Not really worth fixing the oil burning issue, the car itself isn't worth much. I guess I'll just keeping driving it until the rings get so bad it starts losing compression haha.
