How do these work with the fuel gauge and estimated remaining range?

The gauge works just fine with a small mod to lengthen the float arm on the tank sending unit to accommodate larger capacity.

Computer function will not be accurate across entire range of tank since we cannot "hack" the onboard computer to tell it the tank is 50% larger than stock.

I didn’t “mod” my float arm. I just know that when the orange light comes on, I still have 8.2 gallons of fuel left in the tank.

How different would the mounting be for dclb? There’s more room so it would fit. Is it just a matter of adjusting the mounts?

Different enough that we are working on a supplemental kit to suit DCLB and ACC CAB. Expected availability second quarter of 2019.

    TACOMA TANK UPDATE
Happy New Year - All good on this end, lots of progress across the LRA family of tanks. Specific to the Tacoma range, here are some of the high points:
    1. We have updated the LRA Tacoma kit and are back in production/distribution. Same price $1,595, but the filling, venting and burping issues are solved and the replacement tank is rated at 33 gallons.
    2. We are providing update components for existing customers and will help pay for the time/labor to install. Existing owners need only contact us at info@cruiserbrothers.com
    3. We are working on a possible auxiliary tank of around 30 gallons. On this, we need to confirm measurements for all body/box configurations from 2005 to 2019 - DCSB, DCLB and Access Cab. We are looking for dimensions within the void between the frame rails and cross-members in the colored area shown below.

We have sold several hundred LRA tanks here in North America over the last year and with the exception of the venting issues, all of the kits install and function as designed without any hiccoughs. Not including the Taco Aux discussed here, Georg Esterer and I (Ward Harris) have helped LRA to update or develop eight different tank kits for North American vehicles, with more on the way.

We have been blessed with the collaboration, cooperation, support and patience goodwill of dozens of vehicle owners that have helped us learn the product and build the business, as well as the products that give us a reason for existence.

If you can take ten minutes to take a tape to your truck, we would appreciate any forum members that can provide the following:
    • Year and Model - Body (Dual Cab or Access Cab) and Bed Length (Short or Long)
    • Length, Width & Height without Spare Tire, Hanger or Crosspiece - Both clear span and with removal or relocation of any frame or bed-mounted brackets, tabs or components
    • Any good-quality photos of the subject area from different angles (with description) would be appreciated, along with other comments, observations, suggestions, etc.
    • Questions via the forum and emailed responses to info@cruiserbrothers.com
This is a team effort and we appreciate any/all help.

I can swing by the shop and see if Georg wants to take measurements next week. If he also happens to have the tank fill retrofit, that would be sweet.

This was my first idea before I came across your original product. Would be curious to see if I could run both together as I already have the LRA 34 gallon tank.

I can get pics and measurements this weekend for you.

Also haven't recieved my updated components for the tank yet.

I’ve been waiting to see what the AUX tank they are cooking up looks like. We should try and work something out where you/me can get both our tanks ( and other people if they wanted to pitch ). I’m not sure on logistics for bring them across the boarder tho.

Well, I had to confirm as Cruiser Brothers is the only authorized dealer in the states that I’m aware of.

Believe he is a distributor/dealer. I believe cruisin off-road gets them through him as well. Regardless, i’ll get mine through cruisin brothers. I’d have purchased this last year, but the venting issues and lack of mounting options on the long beds held me up.

Is anyone aware of any progress tricking the 3rd gen fuel calculator so it displays an accurate level with these tanks? I can of course do the math based on my fuel efficiency but it would be annoying to have the truck always alerting me that it is 'out of gas' when it is really not.

I can attest that the vent system works like a charm. Just did a 3000 mile road trip and worked like a charm. Had it installed by Cruiser Brothers. Good and honest work.

USPS says they will deliver my vent tomorrow, and then Saturday I'll be installing my tank! Hopefully I can finally go more than 200miles on a tank, haha
