Why do fumoto valves drain so freaking slow

I don't know what you are talking about. I never said anything about taking the engine apart.

I was only stating that the point is to get the carbon and contaminates out. They come out more completely when they are suspended in the oil after it has circulated and is warm.

You can change your oil however you like...

 

how do you know that all contaminates are suspended in completely in oil only after it gets warm, they may be suspended in oil that is cold too.

 

What part of "more Completely" didn't you understand?

Do not buy a fumoto. Mine leaked between the brass, it's 2 parts. The regular drain plug is easy enough to drain.

 

I did my Christmas Eve oil change today. Replaced the stock bolt with the EZ valve. With the skid plate there is no way to get a wrench in there so you have to use a socket and make a mess. I had to power wash the underside afterward because the last change at Toyota they over tightened the filter drain plug and I felt I was going to break the plastic housing. I ended up using a 1/2" long ratchet with a Toyota filter socket to take the whole thing off and spilt oil everywhere. Luckily I had an aluminum housing I can replace it with.

I used Mobil Synthetic 0-20 and K&N filter media. The next oil change will be easier.

No its not. Its so difficult! I wish there was something that I could just flip a switch, and oil would come out..

 

I didn't buy one,nothing wrong with the drain plug.Never fix something that's not broken.

 

Loosening the drain plug with a socket makes no more mess than using a wrench to loosen it,its loosened then screwed the rest of the way off by hand.

 

I just removed my Fumoto last week and went back to the stock plug. Number one reason was because when I was deer hunting this year I drove a logging trail and took a thump to the undercarriage while going over some stumps. When I got home, I checked underneath and discovered the Fumoto had been knocked loose and was leaking oil. Other reason was I was curious how much oil didn't come out when using the valve since it sticks up into the pan. I drained my oil using the valve and then removed it. There was probably at least 12 to 16 oz. still in there that didn't come out.

It was certainly convenient but it does have its drawbacks.

 

Smart guy.Fumoto valves are meant more for street vehicles,not trucks/off road .

I’m holding out for an electric fumoto valve, just pull in over an upside down garbage can lid, hit a button on your key fob and wham bam she’s draining. It will easily save another 30 seconds.

unless you have a steel skid plate that does not give you enough room to remove it by hand. The reason I posted it here. I removed the ratchet but still needed the deep socket on the bolt to remove it completely. Mostly it was people bitching you can still use a wrench which is not possible with the Skid plate. The Taco and 4Runner are close enough to share the findings. If you don't think so WAAA! cry to your mommy.

My next oil change will be much easier by flipping the lever, that's all. It is protected by the skid plate.

 

You have to admit the people that have them love them and the people that don’t, trash talk them.
Sure there are a few that had them and had a faulty one or something. But overall they work great.

Use them with some common sense. No if $26 is a major purchase. No if your a rock crawler. No if you just bought some new wrench’s.
