It will snap into place when fully seated and with the seal it might feel difficult to insert. Give it a tug, it might pull right back out.

Near as I can tell, there's a P/N switch for energizing the starter relay and letting the ECU know if you're in Park or neutral, and a separate group of switches for the dash indicators. Here's the schematic for starting. I also found where those same colors go to the ECU.

Here's the schematic for the dash indicators. You can see that the P/N wires are different colors. I couldn't find the rest of the NSS wiring. Also notice that there's more then 1 purple wire.

Here's the complete list of schematics. You're gonna need to do some meter testing.

Thanks, I’m hoping, probably wait until tomorrow, I’m fairly certain it’s not seated properly.

I never did feel one of them click into place, so I’m fairly certain that’s the issue

A little dab of dialectic grease on the rubber seal may help it slide into the connector a little easier. Love that stuff use it anytime I get a chance. Helps promote continuity and prevents corrosion

Common misconception. Dieelectric grease does not conduct and is an insulator.

It is made for a sealing and lubricating the seals for electrical connectors.

Never said it conducts- “promotes continuity”. Conduction is done by the conductor. Promoting is to help or assist- anticorrosive, water repellant ect. Call it what you want but it works.

    You both make valid points.
Dielectric grease is a silicone grease and will be a pretty good insulator with a dielectric strength usually of several hundred volts per mil. But when made specifically as an electrical grease it's got a low viscosity that lets it be easily displaced. Any on the terminals is scraped off relatively well and allows acceptable conductivity across the contacts. That is usually fine for a low current circuit or one with high enough clamping pressure to force the grease out and get good conductor contact, such as battery terminals. But you do want to be aware of it because it can contaminate very high voltage connections if it breaks down, insulate if there's insufficient contact pressure or controlled impedances. It's best to use it sparingly and if it doesn't need to be on the contacts it's better not to smear it on them.

It promotes a good moisture proof seal and ease of assembly of connectors.

I understand you want to play a word game so I'll let this drop.

I’ll “promote” that decision. :). Just throwing in my .02 on any ideas that may help OP - not here to play games.

Update, fixed it, #6 pin wasn’t in fully, all lights are back on and truck starts! The pins on #5 and #6 were in incorrectly, reading the documents you guys sent, I figured out how to temporarily unlock it, and pulled them out and fixed them #5 clicked into place and locked, but #6 didn’t, however, as long as it’s connected to the NSS, the connector should keep it locked into place and I shouldn’t have an issue. If the park light goes out or it stops starting, I’ll know where to start, and it’ll probably be easier to just replace that terminal again.

That last link was what helped me the most today to get it going! Without that, I never would’ve. Thanks everyone for all the help! Without any of the help I would still have a truck that won’t start!

I have an 02 Tacoma and the NSS plug is shot. Anyone know where to get a connector with wire attached?
