Hahaha! Yea me too kbp! But I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread and what folks have had to say. As a retired fish biologist and having done spawner surveys in the Fall and habitat surveys in the Spring on streams of the PNW for over 35 years I've seen plenty of bear sign (blacks) but had only a few encounters all of which ended peacefully for me and the bear. I've hiked Glacier NP, and the trails on Baranof and Kurzof Islands in SE Alaska where I probably saw more brown bear than blacks down here. All the time carrying bear spray. I have to agree with most on this thread when using common sense in bear country, i.e., keep food away from the camp, make noise when hiking, and avoiding problem areas (hiking along a tree line and marsh on an incoming tide while pink salmon are making their way upstream). But things can occur out in the woods. Last summer while hiking out of surf beach on Kruzof Island back to the boat on Kalinin Bay I had to thread the incoming tide between the marsh and tree line. As I was rounding a bend I heard a huff! There 15' from me was a sow and two cubs! After I s%!t my pants I slowly repeated good bear, good bear and slowly backed away. And she was a good bear, leaving me alone. I had bear spray but would not have had time to deploy it if attacked nor unshoulder a shotgun or unholster a hog leg. Many of my colleaques with ADFG who work the streams carry bear spray and shotguns. But bear spray has been proven to be effective just don't deploy it when the wind is blowing the wrong way! Now back to that question kbp has on the right tire selection w/o a lift kit!

No worse than TW OV thread for past 2 week.

I had numerous encounters with black bears hile running/biking local trails, including mama bear and the cub. Did not need a gun to negotiate the right of way..

It would have had to be a factory built pistol for it to be legal in that case. In typical ATF fashion a pistol can be turned into a rifle but a rifle can’t be turned into a pistol.

As well all know, plenty of people are turning “rifles” into pistols. Not sure how that translates into turning a mosin into a pistol, however. Or, it could be an AOW. It’s so ridiculous it’s hard to pin it down.

Also, relic/curio. Who the fuck knows where that came from.
