Folks, since Angel crossed over to heaven in early December, it's been a difficult time for MaryAnn and I. However, we both knew that we needed to move on until our time to join her is upon us.

Until then, another furball has captured our hearts and after incessant searching. On Christmas Eve, we adopted a rescue and brought her home for Christmas. She's not a Maine Coon, but believed to be a Siamese Calico with bright Light Blue eyes. Her markings caught our attention immediately.

It's only been 24 hours, but we've learned the following...

• Happiness means a quivering tail
• Come when called
• Loves to burrow under the bed comforter
• Loves to head bump

We're still in the closed door introduction stage.

 

I learned the tail with my Thug Rose..never had a cat do that before

Great to hear the news! By no means is this a betrayal to angel. At least that was how I felt after max died and we decided to get another cat- Suki. She’s definitely looking down and happy that you gave another kitty in need a great home. She is beautiful and sounds like she’ll adjust in no time

 

Awesome for you guys. Adopting a new family member after the passing of a another is not about replacing the lost loved one. Nothing can do that. It's about starting a new chapter. ♡

Sometimes I think they leave us so another cat can have a turn at some love.

4 years ago after my grey coon died we had one cat (Scratch) from Saturday to Thursday. We knew we'd get another in time, but Scratch spoke up and declared she would not be an only cat. So we did what she said

This after noon I was admiring our Christmas tree and thinking about how thankful I was to see so many gifts with my name on them.
Upon closer inspection I saw the only gift under the tree that really matters the most to me. It’s been a tough year and I’m so thankful to have Suki in my life.

 

Her name is Bella, chosen by my wife. She says it means beautiful in Italian.

 

We have a Bella short for Bellatrix, Bellatrix is a powerful and terrifying witch as well as a Death Eater. Of course it is a cat so at best she can only be a witch or wench sometimes. She tends to beat up our little brown cat who has hidden mean streak and at a whims notice will hiss at you and possible try to bite when she is annoyed.

 

Hey my little girl was Bellatrix. I miss her every day.
