To do that is completely illegal. To build a “pistol” that looks remarkably like a “rifle” from a bare receiver is legal and what most people I know have done. There’s no legal way to make a previously assembled rifle into a pistol outside of NFA registration and tax stamps. That’s my understanding of it at least, which could be wrong with how convoluted the ATF makes things.

Right. And how that relates to a mosin, is beyond me. But completely within the realm of possibility. That mosin... It could be NFA. It could be a pistol right out the gate. Like, if that thing shipped over in surplus, how would you class it? Not enough info.

No, but a RTT might keep them out. That has actually been debated on TW.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Hahaha, right a RTT is going to do jack squat. Maybe act as a big flag saying, “hey what’s this tasty morsel all wrapped up in a pretty package for me...looks kinda like a happy meal...don’t mind if I do!
I saved a baby cub not long ago, that was seriously electricuted up our power pole in the backyard. But to be honest, it was a stupid move, but after what sounded like a crying child being murdered for an hour , I could not help myself. (Not recommended).
I will look for the pics on my old phone, this poor animal was fried.

We can't carry handguns at all. Even in the woods.

The closest thing would be a .44 mag mares leg lever gun.

My favorite handgun round...that will definitely do the trick against a bear...

I picked up a Sig P220 Legion about a month ago or so. I did feel more comfortable riding ridge trails on my bike with it strapped to my chest. Nothing like a nice caliber to make you feel reassured that your safe in another animals domain ;)

The worst moment I have been in, was one NC, 1 mtn peak north of Mt. Mitchell. My girl and I were having a cup of coffee on the deck, when a cub walked out of the brush about 30yds from us. My girlfriend wanted a pic, and before I could say..hey that’s not such a..her ass was down the steps.
Who was there to meet her, well mama bear! Let’s just say everything slowed down, and I had to instruct my girl the proper way to not get her ass handed to her. It was a serious situation given the fact, my gun was no where around, my girl was way to close to the Bears for me to do squat (not that I think I could take a bear).
    Distance is Mans best friend.

My work involved a jail often pepper spray was used if I was in the building I reacted immediately but there were bad guys that stood there and laughed at the guy in intake with the spray. If I wanted to protect myself against a bear it would be a 12 gauge full face. A 44 Glock isn't big enough!

And 1000 people are injured or killed each day by a distracted driver. 4000 kids die each year from texting and driving accidents. Let’s talk about those stats before acting like guns are the greatest threat to children
