I wasn’t asking seriously about a DV shutdown, just FYI. I can get around there with or without NPS services. But the fee DV campgrounds will be closed, except possibly Stovepipe, so hopefully it will be less crowded. Or all the motorhomes will head for the backcountry and get stuck :)

Having just left DV its alive and well with people in there. No idea on the bathrooms as i just bring my own if needed. Usually just shit in the woods. But not in the parks

The parks released something about the shutdown. Seems pretty normal. Guessing bathrooms are pretty gross about now :)

North part, eureka, saline valley, lippincott, race track. Its my third trip to dv. Love it there, id been there before but never really explored. Also my pups first real camping trip.

Was mainly a relaxing trip, i’ll start making my way back north shortly.

Yeah there are plenty of people in DV. They came by 3? days ago and shut down the bathrooms at the sand dunes with a packed parking lot. Hilarity commenced for the next hour, and then they must've come back at some point to unlock them.

They were cleaning some bathrooms and trash on Sunday.

They were open when I was there at the dunes on Thursday. When was the shut down?

Regardless, i avoid those bathrooms like the plague! Saline valkey one sokay as the caretakers clean em up. I’ve done it a few times as well there as best can be done that is.

My ex had said something about the bathrooms in Yose once. I didn't really believe her at first. I mean who does that sort of thing? Then, I managed a facilities group for a while...yeah. People do that all the time-and I'm not talking manufacturing or some such.

That's gotta be nasty by now.

Pretty sure i was there Friday for sunset and that was when they started putting up the signs.

Thought $3.80 was bad for gas at stovepipe wells and ended up at furnace junction looking at $5.09/gal and the attendant was 45 minutes late, no credit card machines were working, cash only. We got enough to make it to parumph where it was half that.

No one cares if you have a loaded handgun, concealed or otherwise, in your car in Nevada. It's a courtesy not a law but the state treats your car as an extension of your home. I'm not an attorney so do what you want.

Yeah never fill up In death valley. I always bring an extra 10 gallons with me
And to be honest i’ve yet to ever need more then an extra 5 and even at that it was more like lets cycle the gas.

Beatty is my go to for gas and restocking. Cheap, you can get what you need there and close obviously depending on where you are In the park. Big pine/bishop is good as wel but you pay the cali price err tax. I tend to make it so that If i need gas I am close to there beatty.
