Anyone into R/C?

I'm not a fan of redcat but I like the body.

 

I think the blue looks better. It's worth looking at when I see one in person but doubt I'll pick one up

I have a quik question, anybobd know how long i can leave a traxxas slash turned on? Im thinking of giving my son the remote in a separate package and let the truck drive out of the box (box open on one end and wrapped )

 

If it’s lipo I would not leave it on for very long, maybe 10 to 15 minutes. I have seen lipo’s go up in flames at races when left on in tech.
If it’s NIMH you would be ok for a couple of hours I would think.

 

I’m fairly new to this. My buddy and I picked up a couple traxxas slash 2wd VXL with tsm over the weekend and upgraded the a arms to the RPM ones and I’m running 2s LiPo and he has 2s and 3s LiPo. We already ordered the fans for the motor and the ESC with the y splitter. And we picked up paddle tires for playing in the grass/dirt.

I have the hawaiin and he has the fox


Open to everyone’s opinions on the after market machined aluminum parts in terms of quality, such as replacing the front tie bar that’s factory fiberglass with aluminum. Or any other tips and sweet upgrades you’ve had luck with, etc

Also, these things are tons of fun. The pics were from out of the box, they now have battle scars

wallet dry.
I have spent too much money at both places. That's why I keep going back.

 

I would just drive them and replace what breaks. aluminum is not necessarily a good thing I'd stick with rpm plastics

 

There are some sct races that you might enjoy they limit to 2s though from what I've seen

 

Our local club has a Slash spec class that is an absolute blast! They run on the prepped asphalt sedan course but add jumps. Probably the most fun I have ever had racing.

Got mine operational. Maiden voyage was big dirt pile at work.

 

Cobbled together my new C-24 with leaf setups from a B-Series. It’ll need a substantial lift and some tweaking.
