My first time ever in Pines area, lol. No chainsaw, just an ax.

I bought my 40v Ryobi because it was on clearance for $87 and uses the same batteries as my string trimmer.

Now that I no longer have a topper, I’ll probably just stick to carrying an ax.

It’s perfect for my needs. I only have a few trees on my property. It’s primary use is cutting up big limbs that fall from these few trees.

Yeah, I was eyeing up the ryobi while picking up paint this morning. I think I'm going to go w/ that one.

Like I said, I've never needed it in the pines. That could easily be drug out of the way with a strap.

Ha that time I needed it, not the pines though.

Don't get me wrong, a chain saw is a powerful and important tool. But mine comes out for shit like this typically.

I love my little chainsaw. Being a 12” bar it takes up no room, and loads easier to use than an axe. Have used it many times for downed trees.

This would’ve taken forever to cut with an axe. Had to make one cut with my chainsaw, a little winch action and we were through.

My cordless tool choices are guided by what I have for batteries. Dewalt.

Maybe, but I don’t think nearly as easily. The tree extended a good bit further to the left so it wouldn’t have rolled out of the way as nicely. And yes I definitely need some soft shackles in my life. What’s your going price?

I guess a good sharp ax (axe?) is all that's really needed. I have some stuff to cut up at home too and I'm still jacked up from my surgery. For $180 the 40v ryobi seems to make the most sense.

If you wanna sell the Ryobi I'll give you back the $87 you paid for it.

There’s manual saw chains as well..
I picked up a pocket saw years ago to deal with larger branches/trees
    https://www.amazon.com/SUMPRI-Campi...d+chainsaw&dpPl=1&dpID=51JDzPdfnRL&ref=plSrch

but if your messed up from surgery that’s no better than an ax.

I still don’t feel the “need” for a chainsaw on trail. There’s always more than one option to get through a situation. A chainsaw is just the easy way out, like bringing a microwave camping over a dutch oven.
