In the 80's and 90's it was referred to as the Benz

 

I assume so...was a miracle it got revived at all but as expected there will be all kinds of lingering gremlins with a submerged vehicle

 

I thought he was changing some gasket or something

 

Old injectors are stuck open then, I told you to get them flow checked and cleaned before you ever install used injectors

 

Merc or Benz, everyone just colloquially try to avoid saying the whole thing.

 

Clearly someone with that much money doesn't have the time to stay around and say names all day

 

Not as bad as BMW owners. They don’t even bother with vowels or words, just three letters.

People give BMW owners shit for not using their turn signals, which in fact they do. They just flash at a wave length that poor people can’t see.

 

When you got them were they sealed in individual bags, airtight? And are they replacement injectors or a different flow rate? If injectors aren't sealed away with some gas or oil they dry and stick

 

And a '49 Merc usually had a chopped top, flame paint job, and lake pipes!

 

Maybe it's a generation or regional thing? Around here a Merc is a Mercury. A Mercedes in a Benz. Not even the people that I know who own Mercedes call them Mercs, always Benz.

 

There's only one thing I like about Bimmers, and that's the increasing intensity tail lights, that's ingenious. Basically tells everyone else how hard you're about to freak out. But 90% of experiences I've had with BMW (poor man's luxury) has been negative.

 

Like any other German luxury car, they’re nice. But I wouldn’t want to own one out of warranty.

Contrary to popular belief, Mercedes makes good reliable cars. But when they break is when you start having problems.

I’d own a BMW over a Chrysler or a Range Rover though.

 

Range rovers are mostly BMW parts btw

 

It was like that even before they started using LED lighting, Bimmers were notorious for faulty tail light bulb sockets. Bunch of POSs.

 

Gross. Aren’t they owned by Jaguar-Land Rover? I thought it was Rolls-Royce with the BMW parts.

 

My friend has been wanting this old 80’s E30 and I’ve been helping him look for one. He test drove one and I didn’t think we were going to make it out alive with all of the exhaust fumes entering the cabin.

 

Jaguar is Ford mostly and yes they all share parts, the engines in the landys are BMW usually, sometimes bosch

Crazy how E30s are so popular in the past years. 15-20 yrs ago no one wanted them. And an E30 M3 is crazy expensive & hard to find now. I used to see them all the time back then.

 

They’re super popular around here. My neighbor on the other block crashed his E30 and bought a Supra. Haha.
