I thought it was so weird that there was No garage door opener on my 2018 Taco Sport? Then I got to thinking why and supposed there is a population that doesn't have garages and that may be why? I have had a number of diff tundras since 2008 and all have had garage door openers.

Nope. Stupid that it isn't included as standard on the TRD packages. Just buy a mirror with the built in Homelink online for a couple hundred bucks. That is what I did. Plug and play. Took 5 mins to install and program. I bought from a guy on Ebay (Seller copper_z71). Mirror was like brand new. Works perfect. Just pay attention to what color the back light and compass are... Some are green and some are blue. This ad is for one that the buttons ARE NOT BACK LIT. READ THE ADS CAREFULLY. See link below:

In 18, only in Limited and Pro. Now in 19 they have them with tech and premium. I thought the same with my 18, you would think with tech/premium packages it would be there.

Why not just clip the remote that came with your garage door opener to your visor and be done with it? I don't see a problem.

are you out of your mind? Don't you realize with the added weight of the non-standard equipment your gas mileage will drop by 2MPG and so I've heard the transmission gear hunts unless you use the ECT mode.....

Homelink systems do more than just open a garage... they can be programmed to perform smart home functions as well.

Why do you think that your truck should come with a Garage door opener?

Spoken like a guy who's not had the built in Homelink and gotten spoiled with it.
But yeah, I felt the same way a few years back but after having it for a few years, I've got to have it. It has much more range than most of the handhelds, no batteries to worry about and it's always in the same place no matter where your sun visor is. Also gives you compass direction and auto dim. What's not to like.

And in 2018, nothing could be more valuable than spending $200-300 for a button.

probably because it came on my 2013 Sport, on the mirror as a standard feature.

Did the mirror itself come like our trucks being that it had a 12 pin plug on the mirror or did it come with a 10 pin plug and a 10-12 pin wire harness. I’ve been wanting to buy one on eBay but don’t want to have to hide the extra wire harness

They replaced it with an addition cup holder in 2017.
