    Here's a 20k mile report on my 285/70/17 C load NRGs:

    Pros:
    Still very quiet
    Balances well
Does well in the sand, rocks, gravel and dirt
    Tread wear pretty even
    Doesn't bump steer
Can be aired down to about 8 psi in the snow

    Cons:
    Packs mud very easily
While it does well in snow, it's very slippery on ice
    Heavy tires; expect MPG decline

Besides the ice and mud traction, I'd still rate this tire very high on my list. However, based on the snow performance, I'm going to look at KO2's or even an MT.

I like these over my ko2’s. Its much noiseir though but not unbearable. It does pack mud quick but man these tires never let me down while wheeling on wet trails

I was told when trying to order 265/70/r17 C-Load that they don’t have them. I’ve seen them in some places online, so that’s a bit confusing. Anybody have that size in C load?

I think people are buying them. I'm sure it's been discussed in this thread.

Hey, i know this has been gone over but has anyone driven the RGs in both E and C ratings?? Anything noticeably different? I’d assume the C was smoother?? why else would they make it ? Specs are soo close on Nittos site.. and, to add more confusion to this the C in 285/75/17 is a tad heavier than the E by 1/2 a pound.. I’m probably getting the C anyway because a E rated for these light trucks is overkill anyway but any input would help.. thanks a lot!!

I wish I could help but E range only here. I can't imagine the C being any smoother or quieter though. Every time I drive I am amazed how smooth they are, and how quiet.

Cool.. but why would they even make a C?? I’m have the Toyo AT2 extremes now E rated.. a bit stiff i think (32psi).. but they ride nice no complaints here 40k miles and plenty of tread left probably go another 40. But I’m also on a spacer lift with blocks.. thought the C’s would be smoother on road. Probably have to call Nitto to find out for sure.

I guess the only way to tell would be to have em on the same truck same size tire and switch em out.. first ride the E’s then go to C’s..

Here's something else to consider. If you wheel with these tires, which would you rather air down? I personally would like to think the E range could handle the added stress on the side walls. Some may argue though, the less stout C range would form around rocks better without airing down. I received a air down tool for xmas from another member so I bought myself a portable compressor for when the need presents itself.
