Shot in the dark.....anyone have a rooftop ski rack for the Tacoma OEM rails? I snapped one of my 3D printed mounting brackets putting mine on today. Going to deep creek this weekend with a full truckload of people/gear. Will compensate with beer or cash.

I have a Thule Canyon roof rack you're welcome to come and scavenge the brackets off of to help you temporarily if they would work.

Thanks for the offer.... I found an REI that had some universal mounts in stock. Will give me more piece of mind flying down the highway using those than my 3D printed guesswork...at least that's how I justified $60 on ski rack mounts :annoyed:

I won’t buy a front bumper that isn’t aluminun

Sos’ aluminum front bumper looks kind if hideous. All pro’s isn’t much better. Which leaves me with Demello....which i’m very skeptical about....

    Anyone else have suggestions?

So now that I've had some down time I just wanted to thank Jerry @Montauk17 for meeting me this morning to sell me his TCase skid. I left the house at 9 am and we we BSing at 11. Then it was off to @Mobtown Offroad to meet Joe (also met Bob) and pick up my other two skids. I stopped earlier to pick up some BLO but since it is seasonal they were out. Not knowing what Joe drank I took a 12 pack of Corona Familar. I really like it so....... while I was admiring the shop (aka B-52 sized hangar) I started asking questions about sliders and the angles. Joe explained he had a set that someone cancelled and they were nearly exactly how I wanted. It was much sooner than I expected to buy a set for sure, especially so close to the skids and right after Xmas. Joe made me an offer I couldn't refuse those. While I was there Joe checked his orders and saw he had a IFS Skid for Jim @Jim=TRD Off Road (who I just so happen to meet with the other day for lunch with his son Andrew @Grizz4x4, who is dropping off my OEM tubes to another member in SC) so we threw that in the bed too. Just as I was leaving, Jim @pdenajim called me and asked if I would bring a Hi Lift Jack Slider Adapter back up with me. So back in I went. Joe stocks them and Jim just went online to place the order. Then it was time to head up the road. It was 2 PM now. Jim asked me to call him when I got on the Bay Bridge so he knew when to leave work. Our destination was the Harbor Freight in Glen Burnie where Ritchie Hwy intersects I-695. Jim literally arrived seconds after me. It was spooky. So more BSing commenced of course. I showed Jim how the heavy truck hauling a huge ass front end loader must have had an open fuel tank, and the entire front of my truck, and most of the passenger side was covered in fuel oil. While we were talking I said how I had the other Jim's skid plate and he suggested since he lived closer to him, why not let him deliver it. We called him and I let the two Jim's (LOL) figure it out. So since Jim needs to paint it, and wont have that done while his son is home I offered to help install it if he needed it. Priority though at the time was to get that fuel oil off. So I headed south at Jim's suggestion to a car wash. $12 and 45 min later and I had it all off. Jim is so cool, he followed me there. We BS'd the whole time. It was finally time to head home to my Funny Little Honey. I was tired and hungry! It was a 9 hour, 260 mile day. I was spent.

However, what made it all worth it was I finally got to meet Jerry, and Joe, and got to see Jim again. And I got to do a favor for Jim.

You guys are all so great!!! You make this forum great!

I only said it because I remember back in the day when @CanisLupus had a bumper from them and it wouldn't stay tight...it flopped around constantly. That being said, it was a long time ago and literally the only issue I have seen from them...

Quality of where side hoops were welded to center hoop was a little shoddy and even with the extra mounting braces, it still flopped. Much happier with my aluminum Pelfrey (pre-bankruptcy disaster )

However, with that being said, most everyone else I've seen with Demello products have been happy, so I may have just got a less than perfect one out of the whole bunch.

Thanks Matt, i had hoped you would chime in!

Like i stated above, i just want aluminum, full hoops and full plate (hybrids look weird too me). The pelfreybilt aluminum front bumper that you have WAS the best looking bumper on the market for an 05-11 in my opinion, and I would still buy one if I could, but the chances of me finding one now are very slim....
