I'm wondering about this too. There is absolutely no question the Ranger will steal sales from Toyota. I'm on the fence whether or not to strike a deal now or wait a month or two when they hit the lots. No, I don't think the Ranger will take over the top spot but I absolutely believe Toyota dealerships will feel it when the Rangers hit the lots and probably be dealing with lots of folks negotiating with them and using the Ranger pricing as leverage to negotiate on a Tacoma.

I've hit the local Toyota dealer lots here in DFW the past few days and the selections are slim pickins...not many 18's left and not many 19's on the lots either.

    What are y'alls thoughts?

I don’t really know. I don’t feel as if there is much wiggle room on Tacoma’s to begin with. Resale is through the roof. 7-10% is about all i see for now

I agree that Tacoma sales will dip when Ranger hits, but they will probably charge ADM on them since they are new and those people that just have to have the "new kid on the block" will pay it. Ford dealers love to charge ADM's. But it will still be a POS Ford.

They are selling/taking orders now I just don't know what will happen when they hit the lots and are available to the masses. Ford loves to toss in all the comfy goodies then discount the trucks...they will have their gunsites on Toyota.

Roger that on POS. I'm in a 2012 F150 3.5 ecoboost that i've spent quite a bit of money on in repairs after the warranty expired. Some new issues have recently popped up so it's time. Had a 4Runner before the F150 that was my favorite vehicle I've ever had so I'm excited to get back to the Toyota fam and reliability. I'll buy an extended warranty and drive it for 7-8 years.

What do you think of this deal? 2019 Cement Limited 41,550 with all weather mats - MSRP 41,880. Dealer says 37,800 no fees or add ons (rare in GA). $4000 off.

You answered your own question. Not many 18s or 19s on the lots means Toyota is selling them about as fast as they are making them. So there is no incentive for Toyota to make crazy deals. Now, when and if Ranger sales affect them enough, well, maybe then they will be more flexible. But it will take a while before Ranger production is ramped up enough and they sell enough for Toyota to notice. My opinion is the Rangers will be loaded with packages and not many will be in the Tacoma SR/Sr5 price range.

IMO, anytime you can get 10% off MSRP with no add on fees on a Tacoma, it's a good deal. MSRP, not sticker with dealer added bullshit.

Hey guys! Newbie here but I will be posting quite often. Walking away tomorrow with a 2019 TRD Sport 4x4 Cement color 4dr Auto for $8,000 OTD with my trade. From almost $38k MSRP down to $32,043. STOKED.

Next question, should I get the extended warranty as I'll be keeping it for 10+ years. If I did it will probably be the fully protected as it covers 100% rims/tires when I buy them too - scratches on rims, they replace them, no deductible. Also it INCLUDES all maintenance for that period as well.......Thoughts?

Damn that’s a hell of a discount!! 5k$?? What dealership?? I’m just south of you a bit and i have a deal pending but not that good by any means.. it’s hard to factor trades into selling prices though.. most I’ve seen for an OR is around 10% off MSRP.. or just about a grand under invoice..

I started with 50 dealers and funneled them down to only the ones that offered a lifetime powertrain, then from those I got the last 5 into a bidding war. I saved my local one for last then asked if he would match my lowest, which they gladly did. In the door and shook hands within a few minutes. Stuart Toyota.

Wow, that looks like a heck of a deal, or they're really clowning you on your trade? How much is the warranty & service? I think the warranty should cost around $1300-$1500. Not sure what the service should cost.

As for the Ford Ranger. There's a reason I bought a Toyota. If you want a Ranger, go for it. I'll stick with a Tacoma.

Ok nicely done!! I couldn’t even get that deal from a fleet manager!! 3,200 off sticker was all i could manage..

As for warranty: if you already have lifetime power train.. no need.. I purchased one for my 2012 and never needed it.

If I'm looking at you paper work right? Your payment without warranty is @$222.22, and $364.27 with warranty. That's $142.07 a month for warranty, which equals $5100.00+ for that warranty. All at 36 months as your paper shows.

You buy Toyotas so you don't HAVE to buy extended warranties.

...^^^... The Toyota OEM Extended Warranty (from Toyota Corp) used to go to 120,000 miles I think ? Several Toyota dealers on TW were selling them close to cost, maybe $100.00 over cost? The name of one of the guys was Troy, I think, doing this from memory.

Those warranties covered almost everything and started around $700.00 and went up to about $1200.00 - $1500.00 max. for a very high milage warranty on a loaded 4x4 that covered almost everything.

It didn't cover tires, but for the price difference, that $5,113.00 is crazy expensive to me.
