That is why I like it in ECT mode, but it is pretty aggressive for just everyday City driving. For my taste that is. But it holds every gear like it should

265/75/16 Wildpeak A/T3W tires SL rated, otherwise stock 2017 TRD Pro. I am withholding a complete review until Mat release the "final" 1.05 via his official channel.

I explained why there is a shift dance depending on accelerator position pages back. I've also said I can make it not do it.

Will have everything sorted and new version out, should be by saturday or sooner.

I’d get a 4Runner but we already have one.

Every version of the tune has been better.. but they haven’t progressed enough to where the truck can handle a bridge at 70 in 5th gear.

People who carpool with me laugh at this thing.

A day off work? Like Saturday. I can send you my schedule.

See above. The tune does make the truck better. But it’s still a high revving engine paired with 2 overdrive gears.

I hope you understand I can't magically make the gears different or the engine.

but I can say that I've got reports from several trucks that they will hold 5th and 6th better than ever before. So your situation is not indicative of everyone.

Regardless, I'm already working on cleaning it up further.

Something for everyone to understand, and please read this and understand it. The 4>5 and 5>4 is NOT a limitation of the transmission. I explained it several posts ago I set it up this way so that it will upshift when you let off the gas or below 5% angle so that the truck does not decelerate so fast coasting. So you the truck doesn't lose speed so quickly. I also set the upshift so that you can get much better MPG cruising around 45-50mph.
BUT, as we can see, some people do not like this, so I am changing it.

I do understand completely. You’ve made the truck significantly better and I appreciate it.

    I’m not doubting your work.

The truck just isn’t right for me and behaving how I want it to.

I’m not an upset customer of your product. I’m upset with the Tacoma.

I’m willing to test before Saturday @OVTune

I’m loving the tune so far Mat. Today I saw 19.5 mpgs commuting to work. These are the highest numbers I’ve seen in a long time. Power is there, it’s fun to drive now and the fuel mpg bar sits at 25-30mpg when cruising a flat road at 45-55 mph with 32” tires!

The gears that were put in the truck (AT) from the start are a lot of the issue. Had they put the same MT gears, the AT would be a lot better IMO

1.05 with ECT is amazingly nice, I agree!

This is actually what I'd like to see. I hate letting off the gas to coast down a steep hill and it decelerating on me. I'd love to try this version out.

I’m running 32’s with stock AT gears. I can only imagine it will be nice if you regeared and aren’t running super wide heavy-ass tires. Heavy tires hurt the driveability on this truck no matter what.
