It seems extreme, but sometimes I think the process to owning a Tacoma should be more like adoption. You have a background check and have to qualify before you should even be considered, as it just might not be for you, and would be to the detriment to other owners reputations.


And to be honest, some of you are more akin to these parents

 

Hey OP you want a GMC? Well take mine. 2008 with 140,000+/-. Biggest damn POS I have ever had the displeasure of owning. Truck is rusting away faster than I can find replacement parts. Tailgate is nothing more than 2 rotted pieces of sheetmetal. That damn AFM acts up whenever it feels like. Engine will drink a quart of oil in a 1000 miles then won't use any for the next 2 or 3 thousand. I've got more idiot lights lit up on my dash than a Boeing 747. Low oil pressure light comes and goes. The damn engine has oil pressure but the freaking computer thinks it doesn't. The truck eats wheel bearings every 10-12,000 miles. Ujoints every 25,000 or so. Nearly impossible to shift transfer case into low range. No dealer or mechanic seems to be able to cure the electrical gremlins. This is the only vehicle I have owned that has given me any real problems. I'd love to rid of it. Problem is that it has no trade in value and little to no resale value. You want it???? It's yours! I have always bought GM except for one Ford. Based on this POS and the dealer's attitude and GM's attitude about it I will NEVER own ANYTHING GM again. Be happy with your Toyota. At least it runs and parts don't fall off it going down the road.

 

I want to say that all of the "All black" trucks are trim levels that cost more anyways. So you're better off buying the more reliable truck and painting it.

 

Good idea, but if it was the case, the current Tacoma would probably cost around $220k, since they would only be selling like 1,000 per month.

And TW would be a lot less interesting.

I am all for letting anyone who wants a Tacoma being able to buy one, because it means lots of good deals on aftermarket parts on Craigslist (once the current fad is done).....

own 12 tacoma bought new never washed it to the day cant even see the instrument cluster for dirt but it gets regular service and takes me in the woods to my logging job daily
