I'm actually waiting to hear your review on the tune itself. Will get mine once the handheld go out.

Well, you shouldn't have to wait too much longer - unless the bickering on the A/T side continues to keep Mat's full attention.

Since the idle issue has been dealt with, there's no need to hold back the M/T tunes any further IMO.

@OVTune Do you plan on putting 1.05 on the dyno to see what it's current HP/TRQ numbers are or are you expecting it would be pretty much the same as the original tune?

    It's being flashed.

Once these last bits are done we are rock solid going forward. I've made a slight modification to our patch on the transmission that I'm sure you'll be happy about.

Not to mention handhelds are confirmed and coming very early next year (January ) for all pre orders,

Yep, I myself wouldn't mind trying just the tune. My Tran's actually shifts great after 0058 tsb.

I thought the whole point of you moving shops was to get your own dyno

Reading the faq on P1 and it looks like this step from the 4.2 instructions is no longer required. Is that right? I'm waiting on a no-dongle..

This is different, they are doing full review, independent test, etc because the owner has a taco.

    incorrect.

engine braking is due to vacuum. dfco is simply the injectors turning off (or nearly off) when there is zero load and zero pedal request but still in gear and above a certain rpm.

once the engine reaches that rpm, say for example 1500, the injectors kick on to maintain the engine actually spinning. other factors such as torque converter status, wheel speed, etc are all pieces involved. that kick on is what you feel if you're in gear. for a manual, when you put the clutch in, dfco immediately turns off otherwise your truck would die.

again, dfco is needed and should not be removed. i'm sure some tuning could be done to smooth the injector spin up once a certain rpm is reached or that rpm adjusted, but the way 1.05 is setup i can let off the gas at 65 and on a slight downgrade, never slow down or barely only due to various friction variables. not preferred. again i think mat has a lot of room that could be adjusted here but dfco manipulation or 'coasting' should be more of a custom item vs standard. all my opinion here but that's a feature solving a problem that really isn't a problem.

Not that it matters all that much to A/T guys... but the inconsistency of engine braking at low speed is really a problem that could be looked at. Mat has already said as much in his blog. The injectors being off during full lift does make engine braking feel stronger. This issue is that ridiculous cycle whereby at the point the injectors come back on (1300), the truck will speed up until it reaches ~2500, then the injectors cut out again, slow down... repeat. This is all very apparent in the M/T when going down a steep(ish) grade in 4lo 1st gear.

    Haha those needy AT guys

Probably more of the guys with different gears and 200lb tires expecting it to drive like stock

i don't disagree. i never personally experienced that and i'm guessing there's a table for dfco when in 4lo that could likely be adjusted.

DFCO or not, I too am having difficult time adjusting to the new "engine braking" implemented on 1.05. I find my self needing to apply brakes harder and sooner then previous tunes. Almost overshot couple of stop signs because I didn't apply enough brake pressure coming to a stop.

This engine braking / coasting is very much personal preference, I personally prefer the previous implementation, like it was in 1.04R. Perhaps I could get used to the new implementation after a few weeks, time will tell.

majority of his customers are a/t owners vs m/t owners. he's catering to his customer base as he should. you've not been forgotten and if anyone here is the bigger whiners it is the m/t guys constantly jumping up and down and crying about when it's their turn.
