I was reading an article when all this was going down and Toys R Us shutting down was a big deal because apparently they were somewhat of a proving grounds for smaller companies and larger ones for viability of new toys and ideas. Even though with the internet and Amazon these days smaller companies (like what Melissa & Doug use to be) Toys R Us was willing to take the risk and they got more visibility from them. Also once F.A.O Schwartz closed Toys R Us took them on and kept their line of stuffed animals and other things.

I hope they don't completely die lots of things like that from my childhood are no more and it's sad that I can't take the kiddo to experience some of those things because they are gone. Like riding my bike to the mall to go to the arcade.

I hope everyone enjoyed their Christmas this year, I know I did. My present this year was news that I’m going to be the father to a Goon, Jr.

Guess I need to start squirreling away some “dolla dolla bills y’all” for father and son shenanigans. I’m thinking around the “proficiently crawling” stage that he should recieve his first field knife, start survival training and enter him into an underground blood sport syndicate.

 

Congrats man! Solid plan for the first 5 years!!

Don’t stress too much. Kids ain’t that expensive til they get older haha

 

If y'all know of any free/cheap 100lb propane tanks could you let me know. The new house has a gas fireplace insert but no tank outside.
