    Hey guys,
I am looking to buy my first Tacoma, however with all my research I cannot get a straight answer from the salesman nor the Toyota website.

I am curious what the differences between a TRD Sport with the Premium Package (leather seats and moon roof) and tech package. It seems with these 2 packages, its identical to the limited other than the suspension, hood scoop, 18in wheels, chrome accents (mirrors, door handles) and variation in the tail lights.

So far these are the only differences I can find. I know this community is very knowledgeable and am looking for some assistance!

Attached are the V-Spec sheets of a TRD Sport with the packages I described.

I am personally looking for a vehicle with the leather interior, all the tech features, and a moon roof. I do like the hood scoop, and don't care for the chrome accents on the limited.

    Thank you!

You pretty much summed it up, I think the grille may be different, not sure on the 2018 Limited, haven´t seen one of those yet. There is not much that sets them apart now with the addition of leather in the TRD trims for 2018. Suspension is the biggest, the rest is cosmetics.
I know for the 2017 the Limited got that brown leather, I think the Sport has black leather.
One other thing I just thought of, the Limited gets the Homelink mirror.

Limited has that awful Diarrhea color interior.

Thank you. I figured this year with the options for the sport, they are similar. Oh yes, the grills are different too!

    Get the Sport.
I bought a ‘17 Limited for the leather seats, then removed every bit of chrome.
Since I also replaced the wheels, tires, and the entire suspension, what I ended up with is essentially a loaded Sport with leather seats and no hood scoop.

I would remove all the chrome as well, therefore I am leaning towards the sport. Nice truck btw!

Also, if you’re not going to replace the wheels, the Sport ones are much nicer than the Limited’s, which look plastic.

The Sport has the following differences from the Limited

    -Hitachi sport shocks shocks
    -Scoop
-Body colored door handles and mirrors
    -Black fog light surrounds
    -Option for cloth
    -17” wheels
    -Access Cab and DCLB options
    -Manual Transmission option
-Bedside decal that’s says TRD Sport
    -Black TRD Sport/off-road grille
    -red lense tail lights.

The Limited might be your choice if you want

    -Hitachi SR5 shocks
    -Non-scoop hood
-Chrome colored door handles and mirrors
    -Chrome fog light surrounds
    -Option for brown leather
    -18” wheels
    -DCSB only
    -Automatic Transmission only
    -Limited Chrome badge
-Grille similar to the SR5 grille but slightly different color
    -Chrome taillight with clear lense

Depending on what color you get, there’s a thread for sale section people WANT sport hoods , you can swap with a limited or Offroad , SR5 hood on the same color, possibly for cash on there end, just 4 bolts and done. No painting etc , and of course you can very what the hood looks like before the swap

    Same truck. Different feathers.

Buy the Sport. It's cheaper. And there's no REAL differences. It's all cosmetic crap.

I just got the limited, in Arctic Camo and I had the same confusion about what was different and of course the sales guy didn’t help much.
I wasn’t crazy about the grill but it’s growing on me and there are so many different Tacoma grills with models and years it makes my head spin. I like the upgraded stereo and screen but I guess all that can be added to other models.
Anyway so far I love the truck, took a 1,600 mile trip to grab my bike with a U-haul motorcycle trailer and it all handled like a dream. My only complaints are the seats are tipped back too much with no adjustment, and the engine seems to wind out a lot for that many horsepower.

I thought the Sport had cloth seats. The Limited also has LED parking lights.

Depends if you get the Premium package on you getting leather in the Off Road and sport, it's standard on the Limited.
