There was ice at the summit so I had the hubs locked. I had the tcase in 4 high on dry pavement to make sure everything is good. It was not.

I was figuring @what road would want it as a core for a ecgs diff so he didn’t have to have his truck down

A third is about $60 to ship across the state.

That was from Oregon to Washington though so might be more or less depending on what you are wanting to do.

 

I think James is looking for a whole axle. I know @what road was wanting to rear gear, I was offering to just let him use mine as a core and he can give me his in return when it’s all done lol.

 

I’ve heard of that being possible. But I still don’t know how? I’m pretty sure the axle shafts won’t fit in a 8.4” housing and the splines are different. But I could be wrong... I have 2 whole complete Elocker axles as of now lol.

 

I don't think you can get a elocker third in a 8.4" housing. You would have to add around like half the radius I think. It's the older 8" rearends (89-95) you can retrofit a elocker into with a little welding up a shoulder and tapping new holes. That's from what I've rear not personal experience. I thought the same thing about a year ago and ended up buying the whole housing to make my elocker third work.

 

This... the elocker pop up. I found a whole axle with a working motor and all for 350 bucks.

This was my fix at the junkyard. Random tissues from a tissue box in a Prius, and electrical tape from an X-terra electrical harness.

Driving the truck around northern Arizona has really made me want to install a super charger . Also the 3.4 auto transmission is a potato lol.
