Whats the best auto escape hammer/seat belt cutter?

How about an emergency hammer /defense against invading hordes?

 

Best? I don't know about that but I have one of these in my Tacoma and the wife's Prius. Its nice and secure on the visor which I like. My thinking is in an accident where you have to cut or break yourself free you might roll over or be hit hard enough to where a hammer sitting in a cup holder or door side pocket will go flying out of reach.

This will always be in the same reliable place. Also is handy for retaining insurance and registration.

Have tried the seat belt cutter and window breaker at the local junkyard like an a-hole but I wanted to make sure it works and it does.

Edit: I don't know why people feel the need to have a big huge window breaker hammer when it takes almost no force to break one with the window breaker point. Here's a video showing the visor tool. It takes less force than the video shows. This is all just my opinion and experience of course.

In all honesty, it needs to be something on you at all times. Otherwise you'll forget where it is or how to use it when it counts.

Window punch is a good idea; a seat belt cutter is not really needed. In 14 years as a medic I've cut maybe two seatbelts. The buckle is rarely too damaged or obscured to release.

The hammers and punches are going the way of the dinosaur. The ejection mitigation act means almost all of your vehicle windows will be laminated like your windshield to minimize ejection on a rollover. The punches don't take these windows out. We're having to hit them with something like a tomahawk to penetrate thru, turn the head and then pull the whole glass out to defeat it from the outside. From the inside you'll need something large enough to compromise the window so that you could push it out. Sucks if you're vehicle is submerging...
