I used cruchfield for my kenwood and Rockford fosgate speakers. Took 30 mins to swap headunit and like a hour to replace rear speakers. Spent 175.00 and truck sounds way better and I have hands free now..

I thought there was a wire splicing tool but when I went to look there wasn’t so I had to call my neighbor. Used “auto” electrical tape and wrapped wires around each other. 65 is just too much for full installation especially if you have time on your hands

Yeah it took me a (long)while cause my screwdriver was too big and I had to take of the trans cover to wedge it in and take out the screws. It was a pain but I’m glad I did it. They were tryna tell me 360 just for new door speakers

Yeah I tried to get the tool from my neighbor but he insisted on it. I wanted to crimp it with connectors. Hopefully it don’t burst into flames

If they come loose it'll short and blow fuses. Shouldn't be a fire risk..unless you ran straight to battery. Then that's a fire risk.

No just used adapters to OEM wires and spliced to the ones that connect to the head unit. Just got a $160 battery early for Christmas. Beats the recycled one that the dealer had in there that was about the size of a lawn mower battery

Works like a charm and fit even better. It needed no trim plate or anything, just plug and play with the harness I received. It probably took me 1hr to install from start to finish. It's essentially like an oversized iPhone screen. There are no physical buttons everything is touchscreen. It functions with BT connectivity or direct plug thru a port that stubs out just below my 4wd shifter. Best upgrade I've made yet to the Taco.

How much did that run you? I didn’t want a screen in mine. I like the glow of the keys. Yours looks really clean almost as if it was an option that came from factory. Blends in real well:thumbsup:

I think it was $350 out the door with free harness and shipping. I was expecting to have to use a trim panel to fill some sort of gap around it once installed, but like you said it fit just like it was a factory replacement. The no gap and the rounded corners on the screen matched the stock toyota bezel.
