    I’ve always known them as 8.4’s even though that first link says they’re actually 8” but “commonly mistaken as 8.4””

    Either way, it will work as long as he has a non e-locker diff.

    I’m like 99% positive that the non e-locker diffs are all “8.4’s” or whatever the fuck they actually measure. As long as it isn’t an e-locker then it’s the same size. But they’re larger than the “8”” e-locker diff.

    Im pretty sure your right. They will fit as long as it's not an elocker.
    And I'm no toyota mechanic, and I have deffinatly not verified these measurements with my own eyes, just putting out the info that I had learned. True or not. I still call it an 8.4" diff and just think of it as a beefed up 8" diff.
    I also have a first gen and learned all this while researching for my 1st gen prerunner to 4x4 swap. So I cant say for certain all the is exactly the same for the 2nd gens.

    I've owned a 94 22re single cab for 13 years now but don't ever plan on making it a crawler. It's just a dd.

    Seems like a pretty good deal to me. Exact same setup from ECGS is $1800 something plus sales tax and a $400 per diff core charge on the front end if you need the new ones first before pulling yours. I feel like I low balled myself ....

    My tires have out grew my gears. I have some 37" TSL SXII's in a "to buy" cart but can't buy them without going 5.29s because not enough power. The 4.88s and 35s are great with the 2.7. 4.88s and 33s are fuckin amazing.

    Stay away from 14-17 Acadia.

    We went through 2 (a 14 and a 16).

    Loved the vehicles ride and luxury aspect but the transmission on both went out. My wife loved that car as far as body, ride, room, etc (as did I) but after 2 xmsns acted up within 2 yrs for each I said no more. 3rd row is important to us as well and we ended up with a ‘18 Sienna XLE AWD and love it for traveling with the kids and dogs. We’ve driven it from WA to NC with zero issues and up to PA and back. My only downside for the van is it lags the getty-up the Acadia had.


    Also I think Gid always mentions how much he is personally against SAS in these trucks for what he enjoys. So I’m gonna say the solid axle is out of the question.
