That's literally the only thing I had time to say in mid-air. But that's what I get for being a cheap-ass and not bleeding my brakes when they needed it; for the last month I had just been pumping the brakes before every turn lol

Thats true although I think we all do this to some degree eventually. Speaking of, I need to order some brake pad sets.

I'm so bad about riding pads down to metal.

Currently googling to see if I can get away with bleeding without the syringes and shit

If you got the shimanos its hard to mess that process up unless you screw in the cup wrong. Biggest thing though is remove the pads until you are satisfied with it. I have done everything trying to clean mine up between DH runs, fire, sand paper, etc. and they still arnt crisp after they got splatted on by fluid.

What calipers? You can gravity bleed most brakes and get a better bleed than with syringes.

Damn man, I've been in that exact situation at Winter Park. Sailed off berm a mach, but I was lucky enough to be able to hit the eject button mid-air and landed mostly on my feet as I watched the bike sail. Also watched a buddy's rear tire fly off mid-air because the rear axle came loose over time.
Since then I've been really on top of my maintenance.

I just ordered the Shimano bleed cup off Amazon ($7). That should do the trick for me. I think I have some fluid at home

Depends where you are, and what your skill level is.

As another poster said, Laguna and the trails in/around that area are great.

Marshall Canyon in La Verne is a fun trail, and Pasadena has some awesome trails also; from JPL trails, to Mt Wilson, Sunset Ridge, El Prieto, etc.

Shoot me a message if you ever want to ride. I could use more people to ride with. I live in Pasadena, but am willing to travel.

That's a wrap I did on the bike. It started as "ooh, new bike I can't afford, better protect the paint a bit" then turned into "Well, I have all this vinyl, let's get weird" and well... weird it got!
