Those with the propex hs2000 Heater are you finding that it is adequately sized? On the fence between hs2000 / 2800 and a planar diesel Heater. Leaning towards the propex to keep the # of different fuels down.

HS2000 will be totally adequate. I’m running one in an 8 foot FWC and it’s been great.

Merry xmas to you as well!!

And yes that propex will be more then adequate. Just don’t use propane as a heat source in cold weather it will not work well. As it stays liquid.

@danneskjold How was the clearance between the Alu-cab awning and the rear window of the drifter? Could you have the window and awning both fully open at once? I know these 270 awnings cause trouble with SUVs and it just crossed my mind that this could be relevant with the camper.

On that note, could you or @Iggy or @Overlanerd comment on how the Alu-cab was mounted? Did you move the pop-top latches around to the rear?

You could have them both open at the same time, not as much obviously, but plenty still.

Maybe @huntca can take a better photo.

I’ll take a pic of mine once i stop. The rear window rests on the frane of the awning, just like every canopy

They come with foam strips for protection for this.

It’s a bad photo but you can kind of see here. There bubble insulation on the window FYI.

    Looks good!!!

Anyone have hammocks for storage in the drifter yet? Trying to figure out hiw to run a cpl and where to put em. Thinking above the front runner doors to keep jackets/blankets/etc in. And fruit on the other side.

Also i’ve got the bed extension in my dclb truck. And I must say it has improved my comfort while sleeping, no more jamming my feet into the roof. It does make getting in and out a bit more difficult, especially with a drawer system but i’ve worked out a system for that. Just means getting the puppers up to bed is a bit more involved.

I keep my extension slid under the moveable platform until I’m up in bed and getting settled. Then, I just slide it out from underneath and then pull my sleeping pad and blankets up a little to give myself that extra room. I love the extension, but I don’t love the space it takes away. My solution has worked well so far.

I ran it for a couple of days fully loaded and only under the cover of darkness because...
    D82F6806-5E0E-4B60-A938-452890D8D409.jpg

I don’t plan to have it full of gear full time. The full size spare still fits under the truck for daily. It’ll get a tire/wheel upgrade and it will be on the swing for runs. A bit of trouble to move things but worth it...New Years resolution to work out more! Haha

P.S. This is a solid spare tire! Saved me a couple of times through some moderate trails.

Quick question. Can't one just pull the bed forward a bit so that feet if needed can dangle off the back and also giving a bit more space from the roof? The bed is longer than our vanagon bed which worked okay so I don't think we'll need an extension, but husband is 6'3" so just wondering.
