That allows multiple entities to be able to open with their own individual key. Run into the same concept in W. Va. for oil and gas companies to access properties. You just remove one lock, put the open hole to line up with the upper part and slide it into the hole. Never saw one this elaborate, we just interlock the multiple locks on a cable.

I thought how those worked is anyone can open the gate who has a lock on the device. (I.e. police department, forest service, fire department, etc.)

    Like so:

I didn’t strip a drain bolt, but I did strip one of those stupid E-Torx bolts. I welded a wrench to it, cracked it loose, and cut off the wrench to remove it by hand the rest of the way.

In retrospect I could’ve used a nut extractor. I didn’t know at the time.

Can’t you just tap in a large Allen socket and put a bead or two around it to secure it? That’s what I would do.

Shoot I’d replace it with a Hex head if I were you. Next time my transfer case and differential is up for new oil, I’ll order new plugs.

in all seriousness though this is disconcerting....at least Chase has been cool about reimbursing me. Wonder what keeps compromising it
