    I'm thinking about going wheelin on New Year's Eve. Considering Cleghorn, or a trail around Big Bear.

    Something intermediate/moderate level... Trying to see if anyone else would be interested, I'd rather not go alone, plus its always fun with extra people. Looking to take up most of the day, and a stop for picnic/lunch/a beer on the trail, would be awesome.

    I'm very open to suggestions on trails, just nothing extreme. I have sliders, but no other armor, and no locker.

    Update: We are running Cleghorn Ridge Road, Monday. Meeting here: https://goo.gl/maps/TrQyx3vLJzt at 0900

    Confirmed Participants so far are:
    @DarthPow - George
    @computeruser6
    @Donjuan
    @taco_rhyno
    @BestGen
    and possibly @TaCo ADDICT

    Let me know if I missed anyone!

    Looking forward to it!

    We'll keep in touch on this thread. I was debating between Cleghorn, and 3N16, Holcomb Trail, or whatever it's called.

    So I'm thinking of doing Holcomb Creek road, and some variation of the trails around it. Not sure exactly yet. Any recommendations are welcome!

    Trying to keep it relatively easy or moderate, since I'm still pretty new to off-roading, and don't have much recovery gear, etc. If someone experienced, and who has all the stuff joins, I'd be down to try something a little challenging as well.

    We might want to avoid Holcomb Creek, or at least the boulder fields anyway. Skyline Drive, Clark's Summit, and Jacoby Canyon are pretty fun trails that aren't too difficult. Grapevine Canyon and Rattlesnake Canyon might also be good. It will also depend on how much snow is in the area.

    Yea, I'll probably stay away from anything difficult. It seems like you're somewhat familiar with the trails/area?

    I've gone wheeling up there several times, though it's been a while now. I remember when I went up there during the winter of 2017 via CA-18 and passed by ten vehicles that were unable to make it up during a light storm. The trails at lower elevations were all open but at higher elevations the snow was pretty thick. This book is a great buy and well worth your time and money.

    It looks like TrailsOffRoad.com is down right now, hopefully it'll be back up soon. But those trails you mentioned sound good to me. Are all 3 of them do-able in a day?

    Cool!

    Probably not all of them in a single day unless we were going to speed through all of them.

    oh for sure, lets narrow down to one or two of them? It'll be a good idea to avoid the roads into and around Big Bear proper because of traffic, as @taco_rhyno had mentioned.

    I guess it depends what trails we're doing. @computeruser6, any ideas or suggestions?

    I'll have to think about this a little bit. I'll post up more tomorrow.
