    You got it backwards.

I saw it . I read it. It seamed like bullshit right off the bat.

Might trust him with a base map on a 95 civic ECU to drive it to the dino if I was 18.

Some have sold their soul and first born just from reading and admiring rigs and preparing to buy mods for their toyota. No posts neccessary.

The actual product shiv will offer is real. It's the same handheld we will be offering. .

As far as the actual tune though... they have to make it

Others can speak to this more intellectually than I, but I’m pretty sure tuning an NA engine is orders more difficult than an FI engine. You can get some quick cheap gains by spooling earlier and higher with a turbo. But to get increased performance out of an NA takes some work. Throw in this transmission and it compounds the issue.

If these guys come out of the FI focused world, they have a steep learning curve ahead of them. If they however managed to crack Matt’s code and tweak or modify it enough to be ‘original’, that bites.

Welcome to our world. When our company develops something new it always gets copied by the competition. It might take them a few years but it is a sure thing. IP being copied is extremely common and, while you can somewhat protect it in the states, other countries have different rules.
Do things the best you can as fast as you can and hope you never run out of ideas, cause if your shit's good and lucrative it will get copied. There is zero time to rest on your laurels.
You are modding Toyota's tune, someone will probably mod yours, then someone will mod theirs, etc.

I have taken some time to chat with Openflash. As we know eachother from other platforms, and have also removed any post/opinion that may be read in any ill way.
When OFT returns they tell you guy about their product.

I actually have a tune from Shiv for my Miata. I definitely like the improvement it made to the stock tune. The last time I looked into an update was over a year ago, but his development on that platform seem to have stalled.

Typical forum board herd mentality. It happens on every forum board where a vendor has gained popularity. I for one welcome the competition. In fact, I perused the web and found no major complaints against OFT / OFH and Shiv. I actually found entire write ups praising him for his professionalism and the attention he gives customers. We would me remiss of pushing him out based on the claims of a competitor.

I am looking forward to some real world comparisons once the tune is released.

OVTune has a competitive advantage in that he already has a solid customer base and years of familiarity with the Toyota Tacoma.

Its nice to see yall won't be stepping on each other's toes. No need to turn your fans against you based on hasty emotions towards competition. I understand where you were coming from as you've obviously put you heart and soul into tuning the 3.5 V6 Taco for far longer than I expected.

Also nice of you to explain why there are quotes from you with no post. I was confused about what was going on :D

I think that this proves we can’t just jump to conclusions and bash members. Again I don’t have either tube yet, but competition is healthy and as long as it’s on the up and up it should be welcomed.

Sure it may affect one vendor but they also pretty much have the majority of the market anyway. If Openflash sucks than the customers drive the market. But... Lower prices are what has kept me and many other from investing in this to start with.

A little competition on pricing might be a good thing in the long run. If you have a superior product, you will thrive in the end. Just hope this all gets worked out without people arguing and making claims of suspect activity if we don’t even know the whole story.

I don't plan to step on our get in the way of anything OpenFlash. His stuff is a bit different than what we do and it's very likely there will be people out there who would like to play with their own ecu, or use their files, which it provides both for. Might actually be really good in the end, take some load off from us and see you guys play with your own ecus.

I agree no reason to go crazy. I got rid of my messages because in the end it will be helpful to the 3rd gen community I think, and I hope not to see any of my customers giving them a hard time. We don't want drama we all just want to enjoy our trucks.

Understood and why posts were edited and removed right away. I do not want any misunderstandings of opinions/ assumptions etc or any of our current customers engage in any drama like what can happen on the alpha thread. Stuff can quickly be taken out of context.
Openflash and us have had our differences in the past but 2019 is a new leaf to turn for the better of everyone. If possible for any posts we have made edited or deleted do you guys mind deleting our quotes. We want to curb any future drama and just go forward smooth sailing for everyone.
