I believe those ones were for the 2011 f150. I posted a couple different ones with different model years

yeah there were the 2011 which was what mine was. I admit I was wrong with my original post stating it was something like 7400 lbs towing, when by this chart it is actually 8200 lbs towing capacity. I was close since that was information I looked at over 8 years ago. LOL.

I kept my Silverado 2500 diesel for heavy hauling and towing and bought the
Tacoma for the everyday stuff. I use the Tacoma 90% of the time, but
the 2500 is handy when you need it. If it is practical, I would go with both!

I came out of a 2016 RAM 3500 Cummnis and the Tacoma really hits all the marks for things I like to do. The RAM was an absolute savage at towing my 35" toy hauler but even rough pavement would beat you senseless and I got sick of packing up the enormous toy hauler to take it out.

I didn't have an HD but I went from an F-150. I loved it but where I live and work it was a huge pain to park and really was more truck than I needed. I've been super happy with the Taco.

What?! It's all facts except for the V8 sound which, you're tripping if you think a V8 doesn't sound great. Take a lesson on metallurgy and you'll understand how a high displacement engine with the same power as a low displacement engine lasts longer. It's also a fact that no turbo is simpler because....there's no turbo or related parts involved. And lastly, it's a fact that no one has retired early saving 3 MPG. Haha

Never owned a full size but I'm 6'4" and I fit well in my 2015. I don't think they got smaller in the third gen...someone correct me if I'm wrong. I can sit in the back seat comfortably too. :notsure:
You wont be disappointed off-road. I went and took mine off-road a few weeks after I purchased mine and was pleasantly surprised at just how well it performed, and we did some light technical rock crawling too.

Bottom line, if you don't think you'll miss the towing capacity, size, or power of your 250, you'll be happy with it. Though at the end of the day it's your decision and you should make a judgement based on what's best for you and your family. I hope to welcome you to the Toyota family soon!

For me, it’s not the better gas mileage, it’s the power of the 3.5 eco for towing. Very diesel like and it’s awesome.

I don't think ANY engine lasts longer than Toyota's 4 cylinders. I've had them since 1971 and several friends have put over 230, 250K on them and at least two have had to weld steel or aluminum to cover the holes in the floors. But the engines keep going...

Depends on who made that V8 (Dodge? Chevy? Toyota?) and what you define as 'working harder'. A V8 in a 5500lb vehicle and a 4 cyl in a 3300lb vehicle, I don't see 4cyl really working harder. And if you say heat is an enemy, then that V8 will produce A LOT more heat than a 4.

You know what else causes wear? Cheap parts cause wear. Like RAM trucks.
Toyota engines aren't built cheap, and are built to higher tolerances.

Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
...^^^... IMO, the Toyota 4 cyl is one on the best in the word. The old R-22's were some of the longest lasting engines in the world.

But I like large CID V-8's over little engines with a turbo.

The Tacoma does look a mini truck compared to some of the full size trucks out there! This is mine (parked at work) in between an F250 and a Power Wagon.

Update for you all. I was able to get a good deal on a trade and ended up with a DCSB OR. It came with Duratracs which is awesome. IMG_1715.jpg It is a manual so I don't have to worry about the shifting and that is actually what I wanted if possible. It has the premium package and will be just fine. The wife and son love it so far! Thanks again for all the help!

Thank you! How do you like the 1500? That was the close second for me. I drove one as a rental a while back and really enjoyed it.

Love it man. The interior comforts can’t be beat. This thing is powerful too. I’m enjoying it.
